I think it shouldve been The Super Eight without Jermain "He's A Joke" Taylor and they shouldnt have done Round Robin Rules. Just you a Bracket and it would have been over with by now and we could have move to the next Super Eight in another Divison. God I hope Jermain "I Get Knocked Out By Glass Joe" Taylor

They should just cancel this crap now.
If you didnt enjoy the fights you really should find another sport.

No we do not. If not for the 3-fight guarantee you wouldnt have got Dirrell/Ward to participate. The 3-fight deal was paramount.

as long as good fights are still being made because of it, yes: It does still matter to the fans.

and it still matters for that one guy whos getting the million dollar prize or whatever it is.

Honestly I dont care who the winner of the tourney turns out to be, I just love to see these big matchups being made.
heck, look at the super six's past opponents being they tourney was put together. now look at it.

it made eveyone really step it up.

Bute needed, Dirrell shows his true colours

The Super Six can only be revived with Bute.

Andre Dirrell is a fake and a hack. Despite that, he'll probably receive all of boxing's highest accolades should he be cleared to continue fighting.

He ran away from Abraham their whole fight and then showed himself a great opportunist when dealt with a sucker blow from a frustrated Abraham. Anybody might have done that in his situation; Dirrell isn't fun to fight, isn't fun to watch.

If Dirrell truly has "neurological problems" from one blow (because he has hardly been hit otherwise), this guy shouldn't be boxing in the first place. That's the reality.

The only reason Dirrell is quiting the Super Six is to avoid being made to look silly by his bff Andre Ward and also to try and silence the doubter's who never believed he was KO'd by the Abraham DQ punch. In my opinion it makes an even stronger case that he's a coward who will get out of a hard fight anyway he can.

Absolutely. I don't see how anyone can call it a failure. Because of it, the best are regularly fighting the best (apart from Bute), to an extent that has been unknown in the sport since the early 1980s. It has had a lot of problems, and is not as successful as we all hoped it would be, but it is far from being a failure.

And the problem with a knock-our format is that styles make fights. Imagine if there had been a "super 6" heavyweight tournament at the time that Ali was losing to Frazier and then Norton, but beating Foreman, who beat both Frazier and Norton, and then beating Frazier and Norton in his rematches. Imagine if Ali had been eliminated in the first round and not given a chance of redemption until the tournament was over.

Thanks for correcting the ignorant poster. Here's a link to some information about the condition.
