I've watched Pavlik/Martinez 9 times. It's not a stretch to assume the weight issues were very real and had an extremely negative effect. At the end of 8 rounds Pavlik was up by 2 points, but he was also huffing and puffing like a steam engine. We've seen Pavlik fight at a much harder pace than him and Martinez fought, and we've never seen him even close to running out of gas. Against Martinez, Pavlik was mentally and physically done after only 8 rounds. It should be obvious that the weight issues created that situation.

If I knew for certain that KP had the weight issues resolved, I'd have no problem picking him to win a rematch.

Watch that fight again, take into account that Kelly moved up 10 pounds, and it is nowhere near the ass beating that people remember. Yes, Kelly was the huge favorite, yes Kelly probably didn't win a round, but take Ward-Green for example. That was ******ation, yet 2 years from now no one will talk about Ward-Green. Why?
