Hamed,at worst,is the second best name on Barrera's record. That win over Hamed made Barrera a star in the sport, increased his name and marketability in both the states and even more so in his homeland, and to this very day remains his career defining win.Without Hamed, there's a large gap in Barrera's resume.

Oh,and yes,Hamed is still a greater featherweight than Marquez,Barrera and Morales.

Being the worst prepared you'd ever been on the night you fought the best opponent you'll face in your career is a whole other matter.

The standard of Hamed's preparation declined over a number of years. What part of that don't you understand?
who are you to decide what's enough training?...for ANYONE actually. being "prepared" is relative!

Hamed fell in love with himself. his narcissism was his greatest downfall when he didn't want to fight and that why he isn't an all time great. (Check the scene with the barber when he looks in the mirror in Little Prince Big Fight)

On top of the psychological problems he had tendonitis in his hands. Many fighters have fought through that. Naz decided he had made enough money and called it a day. Him and Barrera were exactly the same age and Barrera is still fighting and Nas could have beaten him in a rematch but, he was not an all time great so he didn;t take a rematch. He retired.

Still a man who made 15 defences of his title undefeated can in no way be called a duck, like many of today's fighters. He actually fought his problem was he got knocked down but he never got up again.

Enough training is whjen you're sweating you're balls off every day ezcept Sasturday and Sunday.

Hamed wasn't even doing that. Manny Steward gets asked what he thinks about how Naz is doing during that documentary and he's saying there is a LOT of room for improvement.

            no he isn't

and this is coming from a guy from the UK that watched naseem hamed as a kid and practically idolized him at one stage

frank warren purposely kept him away from Marquez and he was gonna throw him in with Manfredy untill he knocked out Gatti and he decided against that aswell

Marquez would have handed his arse to him on a plate as would Morales we already saw what Barrera did to him

hamed was the greatest puncher at featherweight but not the greatest fighter

              Are you crazy?

If a man in the prime of his career prepares with significantly less focus and intensity for a Marco Antonio Barrera than he did for a Freddy Cruz in the infancy of his career, do you suppose that heightens or lessens his chances of success on the biggest night of his life?

I'm not saying it's not Hamed's own fault and responsibility, quite the opposite. I'm just saying it's a significant factor that only a ****** person would ignore.

              Again,

the standard of Hamed's preparation declined over a number of years. What part of that don't you understand?

Depends on his mindset but given the choice. I'd say Morales would beat him quicker than Marquez or Manfredo.

Morales is, for me, the greatest fighter around those weight divisions. So I can see Naz winning a rematch with Barrera but not beating Morales, DEFINITELY not on his first shot, but the Prince would mow down Marquez and Manfredo for breakfast.

                Different class.

Yes,he is.His accomplishments in that weightclass sh^t all over what Morales did at that weight.Marquez spent over 13 years at the weight, and yet his accomplishments still fall well short of Hamed's.The fact that Marquez won his first title at the division, against a guy who Hamed had already beaten some six and a half years previous tells you all you need to know about their respective resume's at featherwieght.

To claim Marquez and Morales would have duplicated what Barrera did simply based off of the fact that they hold a win over him is naive, flawed and most importantly,******.It's a cheap, lazy pediction that requires no thought.

Marquez and his managed purposely turned down a career high purse to avoid Hamed. You lose you right to complain of others ducking when you were the one responsible for a fight not happening.

Morales is Great but he's way too fond of war for that matchup. Hamed lands bombs on that guy.

That's one pick I'm confident of. Hamed over Morales by KO.

I think Marquez is a harder one to figure out for a sharp, focused Prince.

Manfredy wasn't even a featherweight, Hamed wasn't obliged at all to move up and fight him. We're talking about Greats like Morales and Barrera, Manfredy's a complete non factor (and would've gotten KTFO).

Prince Naseem Hamed is the reason any fighter 147lbs and under are making big money now. He was unorthodox, entertaining, and flamboint. He was in a league all by himself. He had the big HBO contract, a huge following, and huge power. Although he did lose to a counterpuncher/boxer of Barrera Im still mad that I didnt see Barrera and Naz slug it out. Naseem wasn't prepared to win so in all honesty he was prepared to lose. Prince Naseem Hamed was a beast in the 90's and his post ring life is tragic. Im glad to see him on the right path of his life. Im a ****** and when I see a felow ****** give thanks to Allah Im proud. Remember who are we to judge any human. Id rather see any person give thanks to God, Allah, Jesus Christ, etc. than give thanks to his girl Pookie or his Hood or his promoter.

Prince Naseem Hamed is a legend in boxing.
