Looks like friendship was stronger than the Super 6.
I'm kind of glad for them and their friendship.
They can make money fighting everybody else and yes, the tour just colapsed.

Ward and Dirrell had little momentum going into this. Both were unproven and in Dirrell's case coming off embarrassing performances. They used the fighters and Showtime for the publicity then when it came to actually fight each other their true colors came out.

showtime better dig deep in their pockets, call hbo if they have to, and get lucian bute as the replacement.. people will be happy for that replacement. others i would consider: robert steiglitz, dimitri sartison, or sakio bika. money talks and if the price is right either fighter will accept.

Does Showtime check if the injuries are even legit? The venue was not secured and there were whispers of the friendship preventing this fight from happening and now all of a sudden he has an injury. I certainly suspect bs. Maybe boxers in the same division shouldn't be friends.....

I defended the Super 6 and thought it was still good for the sport after the Kessler withdrawl but it is finished now. I think they should just cancel this tournament instead of having Ward fighting someone else and marketing the eventual winner of the tournament as the best in the division because nobody is going to take that seriously.

They bring in a replacement who is whitewashed for 12 rounds.
They bring in a replacement who hasn't made 168 in who knows how long and won't be effective at that weight.

There are 3 fighters left from the original line-up.

Only 2 will be fighting eachother this year.
