Would a KO win over Rafa put Juanma above Cotto on the PR ATG List?

I think Cotto is top 15. He did win in three divisions but that is in modern era with 17 divisions and 4 major titles in each division. Even a guy that i didn't mention Juan Laporte was IMHO better than Cotto. Laporte i felt beat Chavez at 130, and also took Salvardor Sanchez and Azumah Neslon the distance. But Laporte was only briefly a champion- so i can see some say Cotto is better.

It is very subjective to put in exact order. I think the top 6 are: Benitez, Trinidad,Gomez,Dejesus,Ortiz and Camacho. But i know some will disagree with Camacho as many lost respect for him as he became a dodge and hit guy the second half of his career. What was sad was his perfomance with chavez. There were moments like Round 4 where he used his speed to pepper chavez but refused to engage him for the 12 rds and just seem to want a paycheck.

Pedro Montanez was one of those greats that never won a title. But the same can be said with guys like Sam Langford and Harry Wills who are ATG's.

A win over Rafa is a better P4P win over Shane Mosley and Zab Judah

Nah , it begins with a veteran solid fighter , continues with a loud mouth , unknown decent opponent , and continues with another up and coming star.

              and then about 5 defenses.

Then go up in weight , capture the title , and make at least 4 defenses against good opponents.

In terms of the Puerto Rican greats that come to mind, I think that Miguel Cotto ranks in the top ten, for the most part. Juan Manuel Lopez isn't near the top ten at this point. Therefore, no. However, it'd obviously ge him closer. It'd be two to three names on his record, if you include both Concepcion and Ponce De Leon. However, that's not enough. But, it'd be nice for him.
