Paul Williams can't box and when he tries to he's really bad at it. His best bet is to make the fight a meatgrinder and hope he gets lucky. That's the only shot I'm giving him.

If he does, he will get embarrassed. What worked for Paul in the first fight is that he just was able to keep fighting when Sergio needed a break. He can't back off in one round or Martinez will bank enough rounds to win.Comment

Williams will do what he did during the last eight rounds of the first fight - walk Martinez down behind double and triple jabs and work. He won most of those stanzas doing just that. However, Martinez is going to be coming in stronger now and that's probably what he's working on in the gym. That and endurance. The speed and movement is already there. I think Williams is going to show everyone the hunger of a fighter who was passed over by nearly everyone at welter and avoided like the plague by the middleweight champion. Will his chin match his heart? That remains to be seen.Comment

pwill outworked winky, he didn't outbox him. winky got stuck in his turtle shell because pwill was windmilling a zillion punches.
pwill also outworked margarito, he didn't outbox him. margarito is a slow starter and pwill stole a bunch of the early rounds by windmilling a zillion punches and hanging on in the 10th and 11th and rallying in the 12th.
pwill couldn't outbox anyone if his life depended on it.

Maybe you should stop obsessing over models and download some fights. Paul OUTBOXED Winky and Margarito with ANGLES AND FOOTWORK. Do you even know what boxing is? Sure he was throwing 100 punches a round. But he was doing it from unorthodox angles thanks to his reach and movng before he could be countered. WHICH WINKY SAID HIMSELF. "He threw a lot of punches from unusual angles and kept stepping off before I could counter.". THAT IS THE DEFINITON OF BOXING.Comment

It's a mistake for him to try and box. He was getting out boxed by Cintron for god sake. He needs to apply pressure from behind his jab, not letting Sergio get into his rhythm. What I learned from watching Paul's last 2 fights is he ain't as good as I thought and Winky should retire.Comment

of course pwill has unorthodox angles.. he's a southpaw! that's not a skill, that's just his stance.
of course winky can't counter pwill, winky can't counter if he's stuck in his turtle shell defense! throwing a zillion punches a round isn't a skill, it's a feat of conditioning and stamina.
pwill don't know how to use his southpaw angles, or reach to it's maximum advantage. pwill don't know how to use his southpaw angles to catch opponents with shots they don't see coming. all he does is windmill punches. pwill don't even use his height and reach to his advantage. he don't fight tall or even use his jab to maintain distance. all he does is rush in windmilling punches.
I ain't saying pwill isn't a good fighter, he is because he is blessed with a lot of good physical attributes, such as being a lefty, having the height and reach of a HW, and great conditioning and stamina. But to attribute these physical attributes to boxing skill is assinine.Comment
