Who here thinks Darchinyan will beat Mares to a bloody pulp?

Well, now that Hozumi is a featherweight....

Nonito has the tools to take out Montiel. Could possibly end up like the Darchinyan fight. Montiel's best punch is the hook, Nonito could wind up timing it and putting Montiel to bed-bye.

Oh well. I'm neutral on this one. Just wanna see a good fight.

I got Donaire by brutal k.o in this one.

He's finna baffle Montiel with jabs, fooot movement and walk him into fast shots he don't see coming.

It doesn't even matter. Hasegawa gets nothing from me till he starts trying to make big fights in the U.S.

It's called marketing. If majority of his appeal is in Japan, then it's smarter to fight in Japan and make more money than fight elsewhere and sell nothing.

Hozumi can't headline an event in the US. He would have to fight on a undercard. Not enough exposure to do that and he isn't at a point in his career where he would fight undercards.

Seeing how he is a featherweight. If he does in fact win the WBC title, he could then fight one of the bigger names in the featherweight division in the US. Gamboa, Juanma etc etc etc. That is a possibility.

Yeah, but who's gonna go fight him in Japan after Montiel already did and khtfo.

If he wants p4p credibility its time to take some risk and fight the big names.

I agree. If he wants to make a statement he need to come to the US and make big fights. Theoretically he is starting from the bottom and needs to prove himself and put in work.

I don't think Hozumi even cares about a p4p credibility or being the best of all time. I think pretty much he just wants to represent Japan and he has unquestionably done a good job at doing so.

If he holds a title at 130, then I am sure people wouldn't mind going to Japan to take it away, specially since I get the feeling if he won the WBC title, many would see him as the weakest title holder. Particularly Arum would be quick to send Juanma to Japan or lure Hozumi to the states for the "take the easiest belt to gain more buzz" route.
