You can hold onto the idea that Margarito is going to do some damage but let's be realistic he gets destroyed in there by an infinitely faster fighter, it's going to be like the Clottey fight without Clottey's defence, KO comin up.

As much of a question mark as he is, and as dumb as it may be to celebrate a guy grinning through punishment, I effing love that about Margarito.

It's quite clear that Pacquiao's strategy will involve moving in quickly to attack and then retreat back out before getting hit by a counter. Margarito's plan will be to pressure him while throwing combos to the head and body to slow Manny down and catch him during exchanges by punching at the same time.

If he can either force Manny to brawl or slow him down enough that he has no other choice but to go toe to toe then that's where Margarito's best chance of defeating Pacquiao lies.

If I were Margarito, I would work on throwing at least 30 jabs a round to set up the offensive arsenal and keep Pac off balance and defensive. Once I close the distance it would be wise to rip his body with heavy shots using his height and leverage for effect. You can see that Pac is pretty thin in the waist/body and Margarito should be able to do a lot of damage down there to reduce his stamina/mobility if he wants to setup the KO later in the fight.

Pacquiao threw everything including the kitchen sink at poor Diaz down at 135 before finally stopping him in the 9th. I think Margarito will do far better and give Pac more punishment than at any time in his career. Watch the fights of Segura vs. Calderon and Rios vs. Peterson to get an idea of what Margarito needs to do to the smaller man.

Someone posted that Margarito looked like a murderer on these forums a couple of years back, I always think back to that post everytime I see a picture of Margarito because its pretty accurate I think lol

seriously ive never seen a man get ko'd with a smile on his face....lol..then in the cotto fight every time he got hit(look at it in slow motion)he'd have this evil smile on his face and come right back with his own blows

yeah he was extremely motivated in the Cotto fight was an impressive display. Youd have to think for this huge fight hes gonna be in that same mindset come fight night.
