That was his big ego fed by his Mexican pride, we have a saying here in Mexico that goes like “O Bien Ganado o Bien Madreado” which can translate to “get a good win, or get a well deserved beat down” sometimes our parents enforce us to act that way since childhood; my parents did, and so the ones from several people I know.
