Those 40 year old men were the belt holders in his division and were the highest ranked. What else was he supposed to do?

Fight the younger, bottom 10-150 Light Heavyweights and duck Tarver and Johnson because they were too old although they were the best in their division and nobody had beaten Johnson as decisive as Dawson in the rematch since Hopkins stopped him back in the day. Tarver has also never been beaten so decisively in his career other than the Hopkins fight.


To the thread. I'm calling it first, Dawson beats Cloud then beats Pascal in the rematch. Dawson will be back hard and ready to bust a$$. Cloud is very unlucky to get a motivated and focused Dawson that wants to put his loss in the past. Dawson is going to beat the crap out of no defense or movement having Cloud.

I have to give Dawson credit for taking such a tough fight after his first loss some fighters never recover from that first L so we'll see if Bad Chad is the real deal after this fight for sure

if he ends up winning and hopkins beats pascal i guess bhop can't duck anymore he'd have to fight chad or vacate and let pascal and dawson challenge for it in the rematch

Cloud is not very impressive.

Dawson should win this fairly easy since Cloud has the kind of fighting style that plays in favor of Dawson, although an upset would be nice with Cloud-Pascal on the table then for a unification.

Except I like Cloud as a boxer but he's definitely an underdog.

Dawson has everything it takes to be a P4P king (except exciting fights) but he's waaay more talented than Cloud and Pascal.

Props to Pascal though cause he brought all the action in that last fight. I just see that Dawson is fighting Cloud to mean he really still feels he's the best. You couldn't really have asked him to take a more dangerous fight considering he has a rematch in the bank with Pascal.

And for all those who think Johnson is old, funny how the man left without a mark on the Cloud fight and hangs in there tough with everyone he fights but somehow he's washed up simply cause he got older.

trust and believe chad is not taking this fight because he wants to, hbo is pushing this fight. chad is a good fighter but i dont think he got that fire in him to brawl, like a p.williams or sergio martinez. cloud by ko 9th round or earlier.

Don't count Chad out yet. He was too complacent in the Pascal fight and he deservedly lost. I want to think that after he's looks at the fight and saw how lacksadasical he was in it, that he will pick it up in his next fight.

He's still the best at 175lbs and Cloud will lose.

To any poster that b!tches about Dawson fighting Cloud, do us all a favor and follow the instructions at the bottom of my sig. This is the toughest fight that Chad could take after his 1st loss other than an immediate rematch. Chad gets double the respect from me. He is pretty much the only one who would fight the very person we the fans called for. After the 1st Tarver match everybody called for Johnson. He fought Tarver again because Tarver exercised his rematch clause. After Chad beat Tarver again. He went right to Glen. Fought a close fight the 1st bout, we(The Fans)called for a rematch. Chad obliged us and beat Glen more decisively. What more can you ask for from a young champ like Chad. Yea he lost to Pascal, but Pascal wasn't no chump in the 1st place. Anybody whinning about this fight needs to re-evaluate if they are a true fan of Boxing or not!!!!!

Cloud should be taking a tune-up fight. What the hell goes through a fighters mind when their not active enough? Cloud should fight a tune-up fight in October-December before fighting Dawson.
