He hasn't fought at 147 in over 2 years and when he did he got destroyed and looked out of sorts. He isn't small by any means and got older since then who knows if he can make 147 healthly these days?

Most of the people act like they are medical doctors with tons of research backing them whenever they spew their ignorant catchweight balderdash. The fact of the matter is catchweights were invented due to prevent cancellations in fights.

Whitaker vs Chavez was a a catchweight. HOw that fight turned out? Pernell was sooooooooo weight drained & at a disadvantage that he dominated chavez.

How about Oscar vs Hopkins? bernard was sooooooooooooo weight drained & at a disadvantage that he knocked out oscar.

Its only a problem when pac uses it. Opponents are only damaged by catcwegights when its pac's opponents.

Agreed, Mack. However, he could have easily come back at 149, 150, 152, whatever. Wasn't like something was on the line against Garcia. But he came back at 154. And lobbied for 151. Do I think the weight will make a big difference? Ehh, not really. Not as much as the fact that he's looked to have slowed quite a bit.

I dont even think the fact hes slowed will be the biggest factor. It will be he was never great to begin with. His size and toughness should make for a certain amount of drama, but hes outclassed. It should be a fun fight to watch tho.

At some point the wars catch up to you and I truly believe that, in spite of his performance, it caught up to him against Cotto. Never have I seen Margarito look so slow in my life. And then he took 1000 punches in that fight. Those are among the reasons why I felt he would have a very tough time with Mosley. But that performance...yikes. I don't think this fight will be any more fun than the Clottey fight except Margarito is a hundred times slower.

What for? He looked good against Cotto at 147lbs and he fought Mosley at 145lbs, so what's the point other than giving the full limit at that weight. If anything, this might actually even help Marg.
