Why does everyone assume Margarito is such an easy matchup for Pacquiao?

If it was that easy why wasn't Cintron,Clottey or Cotto able to break him down? All three are accuracte,sharp,heavy handed punchers,all hit Margarito enough times and yet Magarito was still able to beat them.

Because Margarito has a chin made of granite, which kept him in those fights. The man can take a punch. That's probably his best quality as a fighter.

Because its an easy match-up when you look at how they both fight in the ring, When you look at their respective Weaknesses and strong point you would know Pac has got this easily.

Margarito is slow, he is too easy to hit, and his style is one that depends on landing a lot and wearing his opponent down, and he's fighting an extremely fast fighter who will out throw him and will be too active for Margarito to land enough to break him down.

The styles suggest an exciting fight, yes, but it also suggests that Pac will win, and win easy.

Martinez was a nobody when Margarito beat him, He wasnt the Martinez of now so scratch that out, Its a coincidence for Margarito that Martinez cameback to make a good career in boxing after starting late in boxing.

Cotto and Clottey are just big and slow compare to Pacquiao who is small and quick, I would take that over a slow plodding fighter anytime of the day.

Actually both were up and coming fighters and Martinez was the favorite to win that fight. Now Martinez is more skilled now but his feet and handspeed was just as fast if not faster then as compared to know.

I think that is why people picked him to beat Margarito....due to Margarito being slow, and that was the point I was making with Larry.

Also while Cotto and Clottey are slow compared to Manny they are still faster than Margarito so according to that logic (the one Larry was using) they should have easily beaten Margarito.

The thing is Margarito had intangibles (such as cutting the ring off, ability to disguingish between a feint and an actually punch, and constant pressure)to compinsate for his slow hand speed, which is why he won those bouts.

Now I'm not saying he beats Manny....just posting this as some food for thought.

Margo has taken too much punishment, is really slow, and has virtually no defense.
