Earnie Shavers was stated to hit 4x harder than your average heavy, and Wlad is only slightly above average

does Wlad even throw an uppercut? all i see is jab/right hand....no hooks/uppercuts.

i've never even seen him backing a man to a corner and punching to the body.

Wlad has every punch in the book in his offensive arsenal. He landed a lot of beautiful uppercuts in his last fight against Peter. He has a great left hook. He has KO'd tons of fighters with his left hook. Wlad has a body attack too. He landed a lot of body punches against Byrd, Thompson, Mercer, McCline, etc...

Prime Tyson had 4634523 times the footwork and movement of Wlad. This would add devastating force of momentum to his every punch, thus making his punches stronger than someone throwing flat footed

We're talking about different types of power. Wlad is more sledgehammer type power, Tyson is a more dynamic puncher. I wouldn't call either a harder puncher than the other. It depends on the shot they're throwing and how they're throwing it.

i'm sorry man, i've watched him fight Sanders, Byrd, Peter twice, e.t.c and all i remember is a jab and a straight right hand. Vitali's way better IMO!

Tyson at his best put punches together better than Wlad, though. And that's the most devastating part of Tyson's arsenal. His combinations were bizarre.

Typically, I think the result of both guys best punch would be similarly fight-ending.



Tyson comes out to take your head off, though, and combines punches creatively, so, naturally, he's the guy who throws the far greater average of outright decapitators in a fight, when you think of both guys in the most effective phases of their careers (Tyson early, Wlad late).

Everything Wlad throws is blunt-force heavy and thudding, though.




Both men are devastating punchers. They possess different types of power and fight very differently (at their most effective, respectively) is all.

I agree to the fullest.....maybe some dudes have been hit by them....that explains some of the punch drunk posts in this thread!!
