    Manny Pacquiao P4P #1....How?

When FLoyd Mayweather Jr retired he was rated P4P # 1 fighter in the world. After his retirement his P4P status went to the number two guy which was Pacquaio. When Floyd came back from retirement he beat the #2 p4p fighter, Marquez. Months later FLoyd turned around and beat the WW champ Shane Mosley who was rated #3 P4P in the world. Yahoo sports and other boxing officials rated Mayweather P4P # 1 in june and he is still listed P4P # 1 on this site (boxingscene). Once Pac signed to face Margarito, yahoo sports put Pac as P4P #1??? I'm not understanding how that is.

You fight CLottey and sign to fight Margarito and become P4P?? When has those 2 fighters ever been listed as P4P anything??

floyd is basically retired again or on a long vacation.

Sorry but fighting a lightweight last year and a solid win over a fading champ doesn't quite cut it for me. Pac was #1 since floyd retired and never deserved to be anything but since his wins over ricky, cotto, clottey and possible margarito. Floyd gotta be more active if he wants to be #1 or simply beat pac.

floyd is inactive, fighting a 39 year old mosley, and a fattened up marquez just doesnt convince me that he is #1 right now.

all he has to do is beat pac, and then pac will officialy be #2

Pacquiao had two impressive years during the time Mayweather retired. He has to undo the damage he did with retirement by being more active. I'm assuming he won't fight until next May and you better hope he stays on the rankings for a one year layoff.

Its very simple: *****S. Mayweather retire for a reason he duck Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, Joshua Clottey, Paul Williams at that time. Came back and fought Bloated Lightweight Marquez and 39 years old 1 1/2 year lay-off Mosley. And now take another retirement Vacation because Manny Pacquiao is trying to make a fight on him. That simple logic.

SSM was never p4p no3. The people who put him their relied on triangle theories to put SSM there and he wasnt. He lost 5 fights in his prime, and just because he beat margarito he is p4p no3. No way. And JMM was never p4p no2 at 147. At 147 he was a nobody.
