Comments Thread For: McCloskey: Khan, He's English and I'm Irish, Let's Do It!

The pride of Derry, Ireland, Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12KOs), is looking for the big fights after making a big defense of his European junior welterweight title with a TKO win over Barry Morrison. McCloskey beat Morrison down for seven rounds before the TKO was handed down. After winning the Euro title on Saturday night, McCloskey feels that he's ready for the world and WBA champion Amir Khan is at the top of the list.

Another domestic fighter looking for a big day, trying to cheat his way up the ladder instead of earning his stripes.

Khan must get sick and tired of being compared to every British domestic prospect.

yep trying to cheat his way by winning the british, ibf international and european titles and making a couple of defences before getting a world title shot. Shocking behaviour.

ibf international title?, well excuse me Lol

I know your Irish, but lets stick to the facts, he has not beaten anyone of note to warrant a shot at Khan, just like Murray.

i know the ibf international title is a piece of ****, but its part of the process of working your way up to a world title shot just like winning the british and euro belts. How is that cheating your way up?

And who exactly did khan beat before he got a title shot? ***an? A fat shot Barerra (which shouldve been a NC) Who did Salita beat (he was the ibf international champ too btw)? Its not exactly unrealistic is it. Khan is fighting Maidana next, thats a dangerous fight. then he's "supposed" to fight the winner of either Braldey Alexander or Ortiz v Kotelnik (assuming Ortiz wins that is). 2 dangerous fights in a row? Cant see it happening. More than likely it'll be the winner of those 2 fighting each other while Khan fights an easy fight. Khan will probably fight JMM v Kats winner or McCloskey.

Shut up you Irish potatoe lover.

Khan was atleast bought money to the table and had very good viewings which only helped Kotelnik get paid, and get his name out there.

Heck I will be honest, I don't even know this guy, but he deserves no shot at anyone with a belt.

As for he is English and I am Irish, that **** feud really ended years ago, unless you bomb us again then we will just occupy you guys again.

We will ban you from horse racing here and selling fake phones on our streets

Gairy St Clair (a former world champ), Barrera, they have/had more credentials than anyone McCloskey has beat.

McCloskey needs to be fighting guys like Souleymane M'baye, Kendall Holt imo

ouch touch a nerve did i? get out of the wrong side of bed this morning or wake up beside a fat irish bird?

Khan would smoke McCloskey easily. Hes a legitamite contender(or could be promoted as one - euro champ, undefeated, been on british tv a few times). Sorry if Khans previous match making makes me believe there is a decent chance he'll fight him.

                    Sorry I apologise.

I doubt GBP will put him in with this guy.

Warren may have, but GBP are a big company.
