As I've said before: I don't think there's any possible way she could have killed him. She could not have physically lifted him up here: It's impossible. So she would have had to have help. But from who? You cant just walk onto a 5-star resort without being captured by a single camera or just wander into peoples rooms as you please. They didn't appear out of thin air.

I was a huge huge Gatti fan, but fans and his family are just looking for someone to blame. That investigator his family hired to say he didn't kill himself said that it could have been murder, but had nothing to offer on how he could have been murdered. He couldn't think up a situation either.

It's just sad. I'm glad at least one of his family members is mentioning his "problems" (like ******* addiction). Fans who have decided his wife killed him need to look up *******'s relation to depression and suicide.
Paulf, wonder why there are no videos of arturo or amanda walking thru the lobby at the dorisol resort prior to his death? if there were cameras, dont you think, some sort of video would have been televised already?..there is only one thing i agree with you...she didn't physically have the strength to do it....but involvement, is a whole different story. why can't YOU understand that...or better yet...you refuse to believe this notion...possibility...whatever you want to call it
by the way, where or who is this so-called family member that is mentioning his problems...like ******* use? is it you?

Did you watch the Real Sports piece on it? The lead detective in the case said if anyone entered the hotel/room it would have been captured on video. At no point did the Police even remotely bring into question the idea that someone else could have helped her.

As for the ******* use, that was never even remotely a secret. In the article, Joe Gatti mentioned Arturo's "problems." Here's a couple of quotes easily found on google

"Gatti was released on bail and a promise not to consume drugs or alcohol"

"Despite his hard-partying reputation which includes arrests, bar brawls and allegation of ******* use"

"marriage coincided with ......told reporters, the start of depression, alcoholism and drug abuse. "

I'm not the one refusing to admit something.

Men also suffer from depression, and for a guy that drinks and let all his emotions out i believe he killed himself, I saw the video that was analyse by the brazilian authorities and we havent heard or seen anything from baden(Pathologist) who was brought in for more answers.

Why is it taking so long for one of the top people in the business to find out what the family wanted?
You are seriously ****** as ****.

Anyways, for those who have seen the Bryant Gumbel special, the most amazing thing I found about it was when he interviewed the lead investigator/detective or whatever. The guy was clearly terribly incompetent and/or corrupt. He was basically refusing to believe any other possibility besides what came out of their 'investigation' even though relevant questions about other possibilities were being asked of him.

Not sure anyone will really be able to know for sure what happened but what is clear is that the investigation was clearly botched. Accidentally or purposely.

can it be that Paulo Albares (the lead detective) is in on the take? are you aware that he was not the first lead investigator? Moises texitera or however it is spelled, was first on deck and he mysteriously disappeared along with his initial evaluations. he was never interviewed by ANY media that went to do thier research because he could not be found. Take a close look at Paulo when he tells the reporter that there is no way anybody would have entered the loft after the couple entered. that is where that conversation piece ended....he mentions about the video camera in that interview...it was one of the last interviews he had with north american media on the subject and that was the first time he mentioned video cameras....come on man, if there are video cameras in that resort, should there not be some sort of video footage of amanda and arturo....doing anything? weather coming or going??? there is nothing, absolutely nothing...what is there left to do sit back and take the word of a brazilian official, in one of the most corrupt cities brazil has to offer?
not that it has any weight on your affixation in regards to the ******* use tied to suicide, but I have not seen any mention of traces of ******* in the toxicology report. I think it would be more feasible to assume that suicide was the ave he took if ******* was found in his system, however even if it were, there are still many other su****ions that make Amanda a key prospect with monetary motives.

You're seriously discounting the notion that he was murdered because no one was captured on camera getting to his room in a '5 star resort' in ****ing Brazil? This isn't the Bellagio in Las Vegas. Even there, a notable poker player was robbed at gunpoint in his own room without the police catching the two men later only with the help of descriptions and from the fact that the two were already convicted felons.

Have you even listened to the Brazilian authority in charge? My ****ing dog could have come up with a more coherent, plausible explanation of his suicide.

I'm not really in a position to say one or the other (clearly no one here is) but to discount su****ions on your claims is pretty shortsighted. There was so much for Amanda (a former stripper. Have you been to strip clubs? They're the most two faced *****es you'll ever meet if you actually get to talk to them on the outside) to gain from this. An actual organized plot with possibly others involved to escape detection in this so called great security system at a resort in Brazil isn't out of the question? Really?

Ah that's his name. Paulo Albares. People posting on this topic one way or the other need to go watch the interview of him. Again if need be. That was the most shiftiest conversation I've heard/seen from a so called lead authority figure I've ever been privy to.

I don’t have long distance access to brazil nor do i speak Portuguese, is there anyone on this forum that does? if so, can you please call Tel: 00 55 81 21 22 27 00 please ask for extension 2800 and ask the front desk if this is the hotel arturo gatti was killed in and if so, if there are video cameras around the premises....if the answer is yes, ask how long has the video surveillance system been installed and if it's been there before july of 2009...ask if the police ever asked to check video footage during the time of his death...remember you have to have a certain personality to do this.
I found this number here... http://www.dorisol.pt/dorisol-porto-galinhas/hotel.html
There is a picture of the lobby with the desk clerks, I wonder if they have those new tiny little surveillance cameras that can't be seen in any of the pictures that are portrayed

Oh I just remembered another thing I wanted to blurt out on Paulo albares’s keystone investigation…remember when he said they could not use the purse strap for the hanging test, because it was already stretched out making it not suitable evidence or however he phrased it…. Why didn’t they figure out where the purse strap came from, ordered a new purse and tried the hang test again? I’m sure Amanda would have helped him with that. HMMM..i can’t remember now, but I know there were conflicting official reports as to how long he was hung for, making me say, Hmmm.
