It's strange to think he could eventually face Sergio Martinez. That would be a great HBO fight.

    PS now more Wolfe? WTF.

Him without Wolfe I think it wont be the same beast. Seems like wolfe could get to him without taming him. I figure if he were to go with let's say emmanuel steward, he would be able to get over to him although james would try to listen but while in the heat of battle he would resort to that beast that he is and emmanuel wouldn't be able to handle the corner from there, and would eventually be defeated. Wolfe brings that energy and something else over to james without taming him. I can hear wolfe saying something like "we gotta kill this dude" and james unleashes the beast on them. I can't see emmanuel doing something like that without taming him. Just my opinion.

The most that Kirkland might not have without Wolfe is his level of conditioning, which he definitely needs for the amount of power and output he wants to put up. But if whoever he trains with improves his footwork and/or defense it'll be more than worth it.
Even if it's in his nature, certain trainers manage to get it out of their fighter better than others. Jimmy Montoya did that with Kessler when he fought Froch, and early in Kirkland's career, when Wolfe wasn't his chief trainer, he wasn't the type of animal that he was under Wolfe.

Anne Wolfe can beat people into the ground with her workouts but she can't really teach the finer points of boxing.

In my opinion Kirkland can use more of the latter.

Sierra or Findley would be a great fight for Kirkland and maybe his last as a top contender, unless he reinvents himself and incorporates some more boxing skils, the layoff and a brutal loss would devastate him.

                Finally

Genuinely excited about the next few months of boxing, super middle is well saturated but the news of the day for me is kirkland is back in the ring. I do think he could use some real scientific style BOXING training tho having seen his previous fights he doesnt have a great composure about his style. its very one dimensional. Was wondering is this definate, KIRKLAND on the undercard??
