    Reign As Pound for Pound

I'm a Mayweather fan but iv seen some people on this board say Floyd's reign as pound for pound #1 has been more dominant than Roy's was...... I'm sorry i just cant agree with that.

i love this bit of pre-fight footage, really shows the kind of competitive attitude Roy had in his prime!

Nah, no one's p4p reign was as long, or dominant as Roy Jones Jr's. Thats why he is an all time great, perhaps the greatest athlete to ever lace up the gloves. Though he did make technical errors that cost him once his athleticism faded, he knows the sport inside and out and was a pure artist in his prime. He was untouchable, and that is something no p4p has ever done, none of em

Jones beat Hopkins in 93 and Toney in 94.

What is Roy Jones's best win since 1994?

        Vinny Pazienza.

Sweet Jesus, .....Mike McCallum, Reggie Johnson, Julio Gonzalez, Clinton Woods, Lou DelValle, John Ruiz, Antonio Tarver. These arent names. Obviously, people hate on Roy, and for good reason, he was great. But, people give credit to Tarver for beating Reggie Johnson, Montell Griffin, and Clinton Woods, but not to Roy? Who has Hopkins beat besides Trinidad, DeLaHoya, Tarver thats worth mentioning? How about DeLaHoya? Derrick Harmon was a good fighter, as was Vinny Pazienza. People always look for a reason to discredit somebody. All the guys Roy fought were world champions or would have become ones after the fact. Not trying to hear that. People give credit to Hopkins for beating Carl Daniels? People call DeLaHoya an all time great for losing all his big fights with the exception of the Vargas fight? Cmon now. Everyone argues against Roy when the same exact argument can be made for 75 percent of the fighters we call great. And, their lists do not have the same of amount of champions fought like Roy.

Roy could only dream of having Floyd's resume.

                ........................

Roy's reign was indisputably better than what Floyd has done as p4p #1. Roy made bums out of a lot of good fighters.

as a huge floyd fan, i have to say roy had the better reign. he was unstoppable.

                    roy can't be touched, bwahahahah!

the difference is fighters are afraid of getting embarrassed by floyd.

with roy, people are afraid of getting embarrassed and knocked the hell out at the same time.

pac, whitaker, and hopkins also had the better p4p reigns as well.
