Of the high profile SP's May has fought i.e. Judah, Mitchell and Corley he has domionated them all. This can't be disputed!!! You know what else prob can't be disputed?? If you count the number of clean shots he took from these 3 fighters it's probably more than all the times the other 37 guys he has fought were able to hit him cleanly.

It's highly ****** to say Floyd "struggles" against SP. He has beatdown every SP he ever faced. It's more accurate to say that he gets hit more often and cleanly by SP's than by ortho fighters. The angles are different and the shoulder roll is less effective. Judah, Mitchell and particularly Corley were able to hit Floyd with CLEAN shots he didn't see. Floyd fights SP's more agressively than ortho fighters out of necessity IMHO. He can't fight them as versatile as he can with an ortho fighter. Of all SP's Floyd has faced, even the ones in his early career he has always been agressive and walked them down behind a high guard.

If Manny Pacquaio were the same fighter but in an ortho stance i would give him zero chance of beating FMJ. The fact that he is a SP is the only reason i give him a 30-40% chance against Floyd......he can land his shots.....it's just whether he can land enough to get the job done.

It's similar to the Rios-Peterson fight (except both Rios and Peterson aren't as good as Tony and Floyd) Floyd defense wouldn't work against someone who throws punches from everywhere like Margarito.

I would still favour Floyd to win but it would be much harder than most people think, Shane Mosley thrives off come forward fighters he is able to do what these Mexican fighters do but with faster hands and shorter shots. Floyd isn't Shane in that respect.

This really is a good post. Would Green K you, but i can't. Margarito would be a very dfficult match for Floyd stylistically. Margarito is an example of what counterpunchers should not fight. I aswell would still pick floyd, but the fight would be very boring. I would expect it to resemble Floyd vs Castillo II, where Floyd basically wins by potshotting and using his legs to get out. I think Floyd and his team realised this would be a hard fight and even if they won, he wouldn't look good doing it. couple that with the issues he had in dealing with Arum, and there is a whole lot of compelling reasons why the fight never materialised.
