Does it suck that Kessler has gone, and now we're gonna see Johnson vs Green at 168? Yes.
Have the postponements/pull-outs/diva behaviour (Dirrel and Ward trying not to fight each other) ruined some of the momentum? Yes.
But guess what....even if it was to end now, it's been worth it.
Ward vs Kessler - Ward's coming out party, (further consolidated by the whooping of Green). We also had alot of questions answered about Kessler, and how good he truly is.
Froch vs Kessler - Great, great fight. Both guys fought their heart out. More questions answered about Kessler, some good and some not so good. Froch shows he's better that he ain't so bad after all. Helluva fight, quite simply.
Froch vs Dirrell - Not exactly a barn-burner. But it was worth it. At least we saw two quality fighters square off. We saw Froch struggle with that style of fighter, and Dirrell still not ready to emerge from prospect just yet. A fight that can, and has, been debated over. Dirrell had to go through this sort of fight if he was gonna fight like he did during...
Abraham vs Dirrell - Love this fight, and not just cos I'm a Dirrell fan. Great style match-ups, Dirrell fought fantastically well. Would Dirrell have held on till the end? I'm not sure. Yep, the ending was anti-climatic. But the preceding stuff was excellent. Hopefully they meet again at some point - imagine how good that will be.
Now, however you interpret those fights, the point is; at least we ****ing got to see them, especially when we so rarely see quality fighters square off like that. Could you really all see those fights outside of the Super Six happening?
Don't forget, we have a few more fights to go too. Froch against AA is tremendously exciting, and while I know why people ain't olooking forward to the two Andres fighting, I and alot of other people on here are.
The Super Six has been a godsend, a truly fantastic concept, and just consolidated Showtime as the hardcore fans choice of broadcaster in my eyes.
The Super Six has been kickass.
