        Any evidence of this.

Khan is promoting his fight in the UK with Khan promotions thats why he is pushing Murray to fight Ortiz. Its all business.

Whilst I agree, Khan annoys me when he goes on like some big shot, like he has earned his stripes, he acts as though he is some legend cause he can sell fights, which is due to the hype surrounding him, not based on who he has beaten, what he has achieved, infact he got his title fighting a blown up FW in his mid 30's, he then fought for a title against a tailor made opponent, a guy who he himself described as the worst world champ of all time, he then fought another tailor made opponent in Malignaggi.

That said, Murray is no better, he has cultivated his rep based on feeding on domestic fighters, now he thinks he is entitled to get these type of fights.

Why dont British fighters actually earn!!! their props?

With respect to Khan, Khan took a risk in fighting Barrera who is a legend albeit a fading one coming off a KO loss to Prescott, It was a make or break fight for him, Win and the world titles were in the offing, Loose and he would have had to start working the family business. Kotelnik is a sound world class fighter, Khan fought Kotelnik when Kotelnik was world champion and beat another British fighter called Gavin Rees for the title. Alexander lost to Kotelnik on everyones scorecard when he was not world champion and had not fought for over a year. So the fact that Khan boxed ciricles around Kotelnik is not Khans fault. As for Salita that was a mandatory fight enforced by the WBA, Malignaggi was a former world champion coming off a good win over Juan Diaz and Khans debut American fight, Also Malignaggi was in the top 10 JWW, Maidana is another mandatory who is also in the top 10 jww rankings.

Before that Khan fought some big domestic names and even other names that are known outside the UK, For instance Gairy St Claire who went the distance with Diego Corrales, Michael Gomez who is a well known British domestic fighter, Willie Limond who just lost to Erik Morales, Graham Earl who was coming off a fight of the year with Michael Katsidis, Martin Kristajansen who is rated number 1 lightweight in Denmark. So even Khans domestic competiton early in his career is levels above John Murray, Its not even close.

John Murray? John Thaxton who was a shot to bits fighter and got probably one of the worst premature stoppages British boxing has seen in a long time, Lee McAllister? Ive met Lee McAllister and he is a hometown fighter who fights at the Aberdeen beach ballroom agains fighters no-one has ever heard of from Africa, He wins on decision in his own hometown against unknow Africans and gets beat everytime he fights a British fighter, Youself Al Hamidi? The Ice cream van driver and political refugee from Syria who almost outboxed John Murray? Gary Buckland? For the vacant EBU title? Now this Ukrainian who had 7 losses including two to a former kickboxer.

John Murray is levels below Khan, I think anyone who knows boxing would agree, Khan is headlining in Vegas on HBO and sky box office, Murray is headlining in a small theatre in Wigan.

I dislike how the British media constantly try to hyphenate some sub-par British fighter with Khan first it was Khan -V- Mitchell, When Mitchell got knocked out by Katsidis its become Khab -V- Murray, Its embarrasing and detrimental to the sport of boxing.

Joe Gallagher: Khan clash can wait

Mark my words – John Murray will fill the MEN Arena.

Not just that, he’ll fill venues all over the world.

Anyone who was at his fight on Saturday can see why he’s so often been compared to Ricky Hatton – and after topping the bill on Sky TV, the rest of the world is about to catch on too.

Make no mistake about it, John is in demand and he’s got a lot of options.

One he won’t be taking is Victor Ortiz. Why should he? Just to prove himself to Amir Khan?

He’s proved more than enough in a 30-fight undefeated career – not least winning the British and European lightweight titles that Khan never did.

Khan moved up to light-welterweight having never conquered the lightweight division. John doesn’t have to.

Juan Manuel Marquez, Michael Katsidis, Humberto Soto – there are more than enough marquee names at lightweight for John. He is comfortable in the division and has a great chance to prove himself the best in the world.

                Potential

For Khan to try to set up a fight for John with Ortiz simply doesn’t make sense.

We understand would be an opportunity to fight a name in America, but how about Juan Diaz? He’s a name.

The Khan rivalry is one that’s not going to go away. It’s got the potential to be the biggest British fight in years and it’s one we want to make happen.

But John Murray doesn’t need Amir Khan to make a name for himself. He’s already done that.

John has always been respectful of Amir’s achievements in the ring – it would be nice if the same could be said the other way round.

I am convinced John’s next step is to become world lightweight champion. And once he’s got that then the Khan fight becomes even bigger.

A catchweight fight between two would then fill out the MEN Arena, Bolton’s Reebok Stadium or anywhere.

That would be the proudest night of my career, but it would still have to go some way to beating Saturday.

After 10 years training John and his brother Joe, to see them both on the card was special.

For Joe, it was his first pro fight to be televised live – and if anyone out there hadn’t heard of him, they have now.

Joe 'The Joke' Galllagher is John Murrays trainer and its him who is dreaming of a fight at a catchweight, Not Khan.

I am not sure Khan would beat Murray.

Khan talks like he is a tough guy but has beat no-one yet

I think Khan domestic competition on the way up was not bad, but I think guys with that kinda of amateur pedigree, should! be fighting that level of opponent early in their career, although I might add, some of those guys were still tailor made, St Claire was past his best, Gomez was beyond shot, plus, most of his first 15 or so opponent were not in double figures for knockouts.

Khan's career was in jeopardy, so to me it was hardly a risk taking on a Barrera, he had to rejuvenate his career, plus, he had just signed a 4 fight deal, the first he got knocked in, the second he was lucky enough that he could fight a nobody and still sell PPV due to that fact it was on the same night as a big PPV in Las Vegas.

Also, lets be real, Khan is more of a natural 140lbs than a 135, yet Barrera looked fat at 135!, and he was 35 years old.

Kotelnik was chose because he held a title, but mainly because of his style, which was suited to Khan's.

Although I agree about Murray, he just a hyped up domestic fighter.
