No. Margarito doesn't have the speed or skill to hit Manny as often as Cotto did. He'll make Manny constantly move with pressure but won't get much done while eating a bazillion straight lefts a la Oscar until Manny stops him.

Manny didn't take it slow with Cotto in the first 4-5 rounds. He forced Cotto to fight starting in the second round and cause him to open up for the shots that knocked him down. Cotto fell for it and tried to fight with Manny early on, then he got sparked in the 4th. He was hurt and was starting to get exhausted after that. It appeared that Cotto was competitive, but those first four rounds were where Cotto basically gave the fight away. Manny was doing more damage to him than he was doing to Manny and the pace was one that Cotto could not sustain.

I agree, he let him come and unload, even against the ropes a few times and that's what cost Cotto the fight in the end. I can't see Margarito catching Manny as often and winning as much rounds though.
He will not have to force Margarito into fighting recklessly like he did with Cotto, Margarito is the definition of reckless, because he does not know to fight any other way.

Yeah. mostly cause i expect Pacquiao to basically tattoo Margs face at will all night long. And i want to see if Margarito back pedals or retires on his stool. Should be fun watching Pacquiao hit a punching bag all night until it drops.

no i know people wouldnt be enthused but a cotto rematch at 154 is a better fight. the fact that resto has no more "late round ko power" because he's been exposed as a cheater and powerless without his plaster. he got knocked out by mosley which is swiftly ignored wonder why and was taken the distance with nobody club fighter garcia. the fights a joke and will end by tko in the same amount of time or less than "old Mosley" did it.

Cotto vs Pac was close to foty for the first 5 rounds then Cotto was practically running for 6 rounds and kill the fight. I remember Pac looking and the ref and going wtf.. he keeps running just stop the fight

Margacheato backpedaled in his last fight against the fighter I can't even remember his name garcia something.

Some people are either brain dead or just like making baseless assumptions. Margarito was coming from over a year of suspension. He didn't backpedal, seems to me you didn't even watch the fight. Margarito needed just that, go to distance. Roberto Garcia even being a C level fighter has a very decent punch 21 of 28 seems pretty good to me regardless of opposition. Margarito outboxed a him to get rid of the ring rust. The fight was fought that way on purpose, you can even come to the conclusion based on his trainer's advise between rounds.

Cotto is orthodox and wouldnt say he has good defense really.

Margo comes from angles and will mix it up although he arguably has worse defense than Cotto his chin is better..so I expect a good one.
