Yeah but the fact is he is only 28 years old. All his big mega fights are the ones to lay ahead.

He is only 28 and he has fought and won in 15 world title fights. It is hard to have an impressive a résumé as that at this time in boxing.

Sorry, I'm not one for reposts but I just think this post answers the "is Floyd Mayweather over-rated?" question perfectly.

So how people can say Mayweather is the best at 140lbs (let alone all the other weight classes) is beyond me!

Is Mayweather over-rated?... I think this answer's your question.

I'd hope so, but nothing's guaranteed. There are guys out there who can (and already have in most people's opinion) beat him so let's see how does against them before putting him up there with the greats.

I'd disagree that it's hard to have 15 world title fights by 28 years of age in this day and age, it's never been easier to do it. There's reams of recent champions with defences approaching the 20 mark who were champs for no longer than Mayweather has been.

You are a biased, dumb ****!

Mayweather came from 130! He was regarded as maybe the greatest 130 pounder of ALL time since Willie Pep, all he's been doin is steppin his competition up...

Floyd will fight Zab or Winky, he don't duck nobody...

So shut your ****in UK full of biased mouth up...

You are one of the dumbest and most biased UKers on the site, shut the **** up man..

            Martin wbc,

Hatton had the perfect style to beat Tszyu...

Doesn't mean he can beat everyone else...I think Gatti would give him fits...

I cannot believe you are putting me in the position of a Mayweather defender because I am not a fan of him at all. But it is ridiculous to dismiss his résumé of 15 world title fight wins in a total of 34 bouts. He said for now on he is only going to fight pay-per-view caliber opposition. I think Hatton would be the most dangerous fight for him due to Hatton's style which is in a way similar but bettter to Castillo's which gave Mayweather problems.

Thank you, I agree with YOU!

Either way, Hatton ain't got the skill of Castillo IMO.

I think Hatton has better headmovement and stamina to Castillo. What is really good about Hatton is his stamina which allows his aggressiveness for 12 rounds. They both have pretty good chins.

edit it is kind of amazing Hatton has the stamina he does the way he baloons up Toney style in between fights. That big weight fluctuation in between fights is probably going to take a toll on Hatton. Mayweather on the other hand stays more or less at his fighting weight all the time which is probably alot healthier.

15 world title fights doesn't make you an all time great, especially when plenty are against fairly average competition. Like I said, it's nothing that hasn't been done several times before.

I hope he does fight nothing but ppv calibre opponents from now on and if proves his worth against them then I'll put him up with the greats, not until then though.

I agree, Hatton is one of a few fighters that have a good chance of beating him.

                      Charming...

What I've said isn't bias at all... It's fact. People are saying Floyd will beat every fighter all the way up to 160lbs.

He's not even fought the top guys at 140lbs yet... I'd like to see Floyd in the ring with either Hatton/Tszyu/Cotto/Witter before I can make a judgment on how I think he'll fare at 140lbs.

These 4 are all LIVE opponents.

But talking about him beating all fighters up to 160lbs is crazy at this stage!
