  • Malignaggi Says He Had A 'Slave Contract" With Dibella

"The contract I got is a contract I am very happy with," Malignaggi said of his new deal. "It's a contract that makes me realize the slave contract I was in for nine years. They gave me pretty much everything I wanted. I don't want to harp on the past. I had a nine-, 10- year relationship with Lou. I have some fond memories, but it was always business."

I thought Lou did pretty well for him in getting him the Hatton and Khan fights. Didn't he make like a mill in the Hatton fight? Wonder if the relationship ended on a sour note..........

Hopkins isn't fond of DiBella's business practices, either.

It would be really low if he bad talks Lou who took him under his wing since coming out or close to the amatuers.

now he'll get paid to get his ass beat by up-n-comers and treated like sht. then he'll long for the days of that "slave" contract.

he is, but he's still a promoter.... who doesnt have the resources that the big wigs have.

it says in the article that paulie will be promoting for gbp in Brooklyn, looks like he actually got a good deal, i dont think they will use him as a stepping stone to be honest, he is a good talker, a future commentator, i think he is in this for the long run.

Paulie has been one of the best promoted fighters in recent years. He's also an annoying crybaby who will never win another major fight.

Yep, hes the perfect "Company man". He is a good face for the promoter on the street and is a fan favorite and you can use him in any position on your card and he will fight pretty much anyone either to use as a stepping stone for an undefeated fighter on a undercard or use him as a backup mainevent incase someone drops out and GBP is left with a PPV date that they payd for.

Good decision for GB. They should hang on to him and sign a long term contract so when he stops fighting he will still be with them promoting and commentating.
