Comments Thread For: DiBella is Not Surprised By De La Hoya's Comments

Usually volatile promoter Lou DiBella sees no news value in Oscar de la Hoya's public proclamation that Golden Boy must rule boxing to the exclusion of competitors.

I wouldn't mind only one main promotion, as long as not every event was PPV. Would need multiple channels also to show fights/events on. Not just one like the UFC.

DiBella hasn't done sht for boxing. His fighters don't get big fights because He doesn't invest on them. That's why Uncle Snob doesn't deal with their fighters.
I can see promoters as a dieing breed.

I agree with Golden Boy. Let them sign all the best fighters, pay them dog **** and make them fight each other often. I'm all for it.

I don't get what was so bad about the comments.

You think Albertsons or Vons wouldn't wan't to be the only grocery store over Ralphs? I mean, what business wouldn't want to dominate? That's why it's a BUSINESS!

And of course eventually they'd want to give HBO the boot. They'd make more money. What is HBO a charity case?

UFC is popular cause of what Dana White did. If another company wants to try and unseed them or at least take a chunk of their profits by offering the public something they want more then good for the public!

He simply wants his company to be the best. Not change the Constitution so he has the only promotion company lol.

I mean, he won't succeed cause I like HBO broadcast way more then non-HBO broadcasts but man all these promoters are being babies.

And to those who hate GBP for what Oscar said, what's the worse that will happen? Oh yeah, promoters will have to be on their A game and give us the best undercards possible like the improvements we have been seeing. Oh no!

It's not about the multiple promoters....the problem is the multiple governing bodies.

there should be ONE major governing NATIONAL or even International body for boxing.

Pro baseball, basketball, football, hockey, soccer, etc....have ONE sanctioning body, with multiple owners.

In boxing, the promoters would be like the "owners" who have their own franchise, and a "national boxing association", for example, could govern the sport, in conjunction with the State athletic commissions.

Delahoya maybe on to something... If wishful thinking on Oscars part but if accomplished his goal, it would be good for the sport of boxing... These boxers are becoming pre-madonnas lately with their ****king demands. Look at Mayweather... That Nieegga should of fought Pacquiao buy now but he thinks he rules boxing.....

The only obstacle Golden Boy faces is Top Rank. Bob Arum has deep pockets, wisdom and a **** load of vicious lawyers... Not to mention that Arum has better fighters...

UFC fighters either would work as car mechanics or go gym if there were no MMA fights.

Boxers earns bucks and it's hard enough to get great boxers now, so why the hell would it attract guys if they get paid 250k.

Boxing may have big fights, but the guys going into it will not be as good quality.

                  The way forward are tournaments.

I cans see why golden boy feels like that, arum prefers to keep his fights in house and crams all these fights nobody wants to see down our throats, like pacs last 4 or 5,instead of working with other promotors to make better fights, arum is just too too damn greedy, hes soo old and rich what the hell does he care ?guy acts like hes homeless or something, arum is doing more a disservice to boxing than golden boy is for sure.the little promotors have some great fighters, but shutting them out the way arum does especially is just wrong , arum shouldnt cry comunism when thats his exact buisness practice and model.just look at how many in -house fights hes done in a row its just ridiculous.
