Nah, you reading it wrong. Haye was no a contender, He was a nobody, Wlad had mandatory fights etc, Wlad was fed up with the name callings, taunts and thought lets forget the mandatory for a sec let me teach this guy a lesson.

As far as i know wlad offered a straight 50/50 on money but haye wanted wlad to somehow get more money from germany even though wlad is contracted with rtl so haye bailed out

When you don't have to leave your country in order to make top dollar. When you have your own television distribution rights, without the need for HBO. When you fight everyone who is available and dominate them, and along comes a guy who struggled against Valuev, if you don't laugh this off, then you never knew boxing in the first place.
