Comments Thread For: Khan Could Replace Pacquiao For Mayweather By Spring

WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan has a possible $20 million dollar payday at stake when he defends his title against Marcos Maidana on December 11 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer is already sizing up Khan as the next potential opponent for Floyd Mayweather Jr.

This could be intersting. There both fast fighters,Khan has been looking
great his last couple of fights.I think this could put pressure on manny,
Knowing his team mate gets a shot at floyd.

Off the back of Maidana, without unifying 140 first?

I don't see this being any better of a fight in 6 months than it is now. Floyd would beat Amir up.

Let's see if there's gonna be an OST request from Team mayweather with this fight if it happens.

GBP has another hypocritical moment on sight.

He's more a threat to Floyd to be honest.
Not saying he's better then Manny but his style could give Mayweather more trouble then Mannys.

If Khan beats the winner of Bradley-Alexander or Victor Ortiz then I think a Mayweather fight would be good.

Floyd would drop everything to take this fight. He wrecks Khan.

I called this months ago. Floyd doesn't want Manny, never has never will.

Khan needs to prove he can take a shot if he's going to stand a chance against Floyd. Meaning he's going to have to get hit off Maidana a few times and show he can take it. If he does this, I think a few people will be giving Khan a decent chance. Where as if he just outboxes and beats Maidana without taking a punch people will assume he'll get KO'd next time he gets punched from a good opponent. Khan beats Maidana, I don't really doubt that, he's probably going to outbox him and not get hit, but if Khan beats Maidana after Marcos has hit him a few times and Khan shows his chin isn't all that bad then I think a lot of people will fancy this fight.

No one on this earth could blame Khan for scrapping plans to fight Bradley/Alexander next year if he gets a shot at Floyd in the spring.
