Did Arum just quote this man?

For better or worse, Arum is a genuinely funny character with a lot of charisma. Its gonna suck when Don King and Arum are replaced with air-head Oscar.

      That made me 'lol'.

I'm not even a fan of "promotional companies," just boxing. But out of the these two companies Top Rank is easily the best out there at handling and building fighters careers. So it's gonna be a sad day if Top Rank were to ever go under.

But ever since Goldenboy came out and the fact that two of the sports top fighters are in a competition to see "who can duck the most" in a ever lasting "duck-fest", the sport just hasn't been the same.

I think the last great fight to be made was probably Margarito-Cotto? That was the last time two elites were set up against each other in what the world could recognized as a mega fight that couldn't be missed.

People don't realize that was a normal thing to see in the past. Now every one is following this new trend of cherry picking. And Arum who you think would be the wisest guy in the sport, you would also think he would be quick to ignore his hate for Oscar and just concentrate on making the big fights again. Obviously as long as the money makes sense for his company and his fighters.

But he hates Oscar with a passion and it's effecting the sport. Arum should let the diva company in Goldenboy do their diva bull****, as long as **** just ultimately gets done. But if it's a money issue between these two companies than that would be a harder problem to fix and probably Goldenboy would be to blame since Arum and Don King have done business for years in the past without having issues this big.

I know. You would think given Arum's age he would be the wisest one out there. He's seen it all in this sport but I guess he hasn't learned it all.

The really sad thing is that in 10 years, De La Hoya will run boxing and turn into a bigger jerk than he is now!

              I agree, but.....
the real problem is the ABC circus, and the lack of a centralised governing body.

Promoters currently exacerbate the situation, because a total absence of structure and organisation exerts them far too much control.

HBO are in exactly the same situation because of the monopoly that they hold.

how can anyone agree with arum? oscar is right if all the fighters was controlled by 1 promoter then we wont have a bunch of greedy promoters caring about themselves. the best would always fight eachother. like ufc dana white controlls everything. the only reason arum hates that is because it cuts him out of the picture and he wont have a job.

i think there should be 1 promoter monthly PPVs and bi weekly hbo showtime shows. sounds like wwe but look at how popular wwe is. its all entertainment. and if the best arent fighting the best because the people who manage them have other agendas then it sucks.

Anyone that agrees with dela Hoya is an idiot. This is subject to antitrust violation. GBP is no better than Top Rank and other promoters.
