It's all relative and is predicated on somoeone's opinion...so, in my opinion it is Muhammad Ali for overall Boxing Skills, Ring Savvy, "quiet" power, Personality, Marketability, and Championship Pedigree.

            Sugar Ray Robinson.

Ali had everything but 1-punch KO power. Robinson had everything.

O.K., Patterson I will give you, he had tremendous heart, but Mayweather who is still wet behind the ears...Roy Jones, Jr. is[was] a great boxer, and we will see how he fares when he returns to the ring, Hagler maybe, but Chavez...come on!!!!! The only guy that has a great argument is Sugar Ray Robinson. The others are GOOD, not the Greatest.

I want to add that I think Mayweather can be that guy. I get real tired of everyone ruling out guys of today going down as the best. Most of the time, it's true. But Mayweather could definitely go down as the greatest fighter of all time, and I will never doubt his ability to do so.
