FELONY FRAUD needed an amateur career that included 6 losses to other teens, while PACQUIAO didnt need an amateur career, straight to pros, lost 2 fights the first year of his pro career to adults...matter of fact, we can consider pacs entire career to be his amateur career with 7 titles in 7 different weight class!!! I think for people to say since Floyd Jr didn't want to fight
Margarito, Sr. shouldn't talk about Pac but it can also
be argued that a Margarito fight for Floyd back then was
equivalent to Pacquiao not wanting to fight Edwin Valero(RIP)
when Valero wanted the fight. Margarito wasn't a high profile
fight and neither was Valero. Floyd and Manny have
avoided tough challenges once they got big exposure so
nobody gets a pass in that department. The whole Floyd
ducked Margarito talk has been highly exaggerated considering
Floyd wanted to have fights with Cotto/Hatton for 10MIL
and a mega show down with Oscar De La Hoya and Arum
just didn't have the desire to deliver and Floyd bounced.
It's business and his decision actually turned out to be a
good one for his career and Margarito turned out to be a
cheater, so not going to shoot Floyd down for that one.
Don't see how people can continue to see it like Manny
Pacquiao has been keeping all the way 100 with the fans
either. Roach has been very selective with Manny opponents.
Even had him fight a full WW champ at a catchweight
for a title and is doing the same thing with Margarito.
If people think Floyd has padded his record, Manny has
and is doing too. Boxing has become full on political.

Basically, Freddie, in what I remember from another article on BScene, was asked what he thinks of Edwin Valero, and Roach said, that he like him and that 'Pacquiao wants to fight him' so that is a potential match they would look into if things didn't work out with Mayweather in the 2nd round of negotiations. About 2 days later, Bob Arum shut that **** right down, and said 'Valero is not known enough to fight Pacquiao...thats my job, not Freddie Roach's, to promote him, but he's not ready yet.....Valero is not known like a Margarito is....(it went something like this, and I am 98% sure I read it on BScene...I will try to find it).

Asside from that, I agree that boxing is very political...like what Arum did in shutting that fight down. RIP Valero

and true dat...PAC said he will fight anybody, but its ARUM that is doing the match making, not PAC...people said PAC ducked MOSLEY...there were an article or two where roach and pac did say the agreed to fight mosley...and in the same article or a different one, mosley confirmed that both pac and roach wanted to fight him (mosley)...but ***** dont wanna believe that truth and the truth that pac is not on PED, etc..

it really don't mean much to be honest, it would have been a HUGE MATCH UP if Mosley didn't destroy him already and Margarito didn't have the Plaster controversy...but it would be a HUGE WIN for Margarito that is for sure, but unfortunately if Pacquiao wins he won't get much credit for it especially with him being the HUGE FAVORITE

only reason why this fight is happening is because they are both with Top Rank and it is more convenient for Arum I guess to setup this match and not have to share money with any other promoter but this is not a match up fans was dieing to see, I look forward to Martinez vs Williams II and Khan vs Maidana and the next Round of the Super Six (Abraham vs Froch and Dirrell vs Ward)...WAY MORE then this fight
