To begin with. Everybody knows that Ivan Calderon is a small guy. He has always been. In fact, even for straweight he was small. Some of the guys who he fought at straweight were 5′ 6.″ Giovanni Segura is 5′ 4.″ That is about the same size as Hugo Cazares and Ivan Caldreon beat Hugo Cazares twice. Ivan Calderon is just that good. Size is not an issue to him at all.

Yeah most people were expecting Calderon to win based on his previous fights, but you think a fighter smaller with the same boxing skills as Segura would've beat Calderon? hmmm I don't think so.

I think that Segura is the heavier puncher and Cazares is not the best defensive fighter. He might beat Cazares by knockout.

I do think he would've beat Calderon just long as he has that power. Calderon lost because of the power of Segura. Not because of age and size. Again, Ivan Calderon was so good. Size was never an issue.

Size was not an issue with Calderón. He is just past it.

In fact he has been past it for some time, plus he thought he could go up in weight, despite having no power at all.

I still give Calderon credit for atleast trying to unify titles at an older age, when so many young fighters don't even attempt to unify as Lucian Bute.
