Comments Thread For: Joan Guzman Hopes For Fresh Start In New Weight Class

Depending on which way you look at it, Joan Guzman either has nine lives or no luck at all.

On the one hand, the former two-division champion and 1996 Dominican Olympic boxer remains unbeaten, and on television. His latest televised appearance comes on November 5 against journeyman Christopher Fernandez in a bout that will air live on Telefutura from the Armory in New York City. [Click Here To Read More]

i doubt he makes weight, at the most twice and then he starts coming in over again. he might as well just try his luck at 147 and call it a day.

Whatever weight that he's fighting in, add 9lbs to it than that's the weight that he'll be fighting in.

He should go straight to heavyweight. No limits there.

Foodman and Judah both have the Journeymanitis. Why don't these two just fight eachother and stop wasting the little bit of prime years they have left. Well Judah's been past it but at least he's gonna fight some undefeated guy in his next fight. Guzman better fight a top 140 guy after this Fernandez guy.

                    GUZMAN'll kill FERNANDEZ in 3round,c'mon!!!

I really don't understand why GUZMAN hasn't the credit he deserve. He is skillfull, smart, fast, good chin and very good defense.
If he is in good shape he can be a nightmare for everybody!!!!
EDWIN VALERO said in an interview that he thought GUZMAN was the better(superfeatherweight time) and not JM MARQUEZ like all people were saying in those days!
I had the same idea, don't forget that current WBC lightweight champ(SOTO) looked like an amateur vs GUZMAN,if GUZMAN can make the weight at 135 he can clear the division.
