Honestly that changed my life forever.....kind of the end of innocence. After that night I realized that nothing was a certainty......It still hurts me to this day

Realistically though, I was surprised it took that long.
Everyone knows he was a candyassed fraud protected by HBO and cherrypicking fights before it was the Mayweather thing to do.

I was a bit shocked, because even though you think it can happen, with someone as unbeatable as he was, you kinda could never see it happen, until happens. Kind of like with Floyd Mayweather now......sure you'll have a bunch of guys making bold predictions about how he is gonna lose to this guy and that guy, but if it were to happen they'll be shocked.
BUT I was way more shocked when he got Ko'd by Glen Johnson, that's when I knew something was wrong. The second round Ko could've happened to anybody on their best day. Could've been a fluke, a lucky shot etc,. I.E. Lewis gets Ko'd by Rahman, and in the rematch does what he was supposed to do in the original fight.
But NO, he lost basically every round to Johnson before being Ko'd cold.

Also, I didn't see the first fight, I thought it was going to be another typical Jones-esque trashing. He just had his BIG fight vs Ruiz, making history, and thought this was a step down.....weight wise and competition wise.
But then I heard about the results on ESPN news, and the analysts talking about what kind of trouble Roy was in.
So I was dooped into ordering the rematch and Tarver's mouth also helped sell me the fight. The Magic Man sure could talk. Roy Jones was getting ready to move on and persue a heavyweight fight against Mike Tyson but Tarver talked him into another fight.
I.E. - He said that when Roy Jones is retired, he is gonna have pictures of his different fights all hanged on his house walls, like trophies, telling stories to his grand children. Except one picture is gonna be missing, that he isn't gonna hang on the wall, and that's the fight against Tarver. And that Roy's ego can't handle that, SOMETHING ALONG THOSE LINES.
And before you know it, I read about Roy agreeing and signing up for a rematch. And the rest was history.
