This fight would resemble Roy Jones vs Danny Green

If you use that kind of logic, you can say pretty much every amazing shot in history was a "lucky" punch.

      Vernon just got off first.

And he also had the benefit of having bad intentions behind every shot he threw that night.

I'm still amazed when I revisit that fight that Shane made it the distance.
Nah, it wasn't a lucky shot, but I don't think Cotto's vs. Alvarez was, either.

Burner's point was that anyone can get caught by one and rocked.

Which is true, it's just that Alvarez got somewhat shook up by a much smaller guy, which raises doubts about his ability to last with an opponent his own size who can punch well and can find his chin. There's still some polish to be applied to Canelo's style, he's hittable for Shane right now I think.

I think the two-piece (mainly the accuracy of the right hand) had more to do with it, myself.

Vernon's a naturally bigger guy than Shane plus he can punch - conceding that Mosley was rocked by a good shot from Forrest doesn't reflect badly on Shane's chin.

I think Alvarez can take Shane out. I could see if vs. Mora he showed some power but I didnt even see that. I mean Mora was laughing at him.
I think the bold is an illusionary thing. He couldn't get leverage on shots against a rangey, 'slick' (ie. cyclist) Mora - against Alvarez, a more flat-footed guy, a guy his own size, a guy he'll get more opportunity to punch with, a very green guy still despite his packed record, I can see Shane getting off with the discombobulating effect of old.

It's only a fight ago that he had Floyd rocked. Your power is the last thing to go...Mayweather beat Shane up, but I doubt he beat his punch out of him.

the kid looks promising, but it's too early to tell. his comp just aint good, hard to gauge how that fight goes.
