Shane was hit by a naturally bigger guy and a good puncher, though, while Alvarez was hit by a naturally much smaller guy.

I don't know, I just see exchanges at points in this one and that favors Shane to my mind. Eventually Mosley will dramatically age right in front of an opponent, but I don't think a couple more good showings is beyond him...of course, that would in part have to do with the style he's matched with, and Alvarez isn't a bad one for Shane, especially with the question mark over his ability to take a good shot well from a puncher his own size.

Alvarez is ready to knockout Mosley, but I agree with this.

He's 20 years old and knowing the fans, after he knockout a Mosley, they'll be pushing for a Martinez or a Williams or an Angulo. After that, they'll be looking to throw the kid in against Mayweather or even Pacquiao before he's ready.

That said, I think they should have him as Mosley's next fight, unless Mosley can get a big fight. If he knocksout Mosley they can still take the kid back down to 147 and have him on the type of schedule they have him on now, until he faces Berto.

        You're a goddamn moron.

Shane wasn't caught with "a good punch" by Forrest.

Vernon Forrest beat the fucking brakes off of him the entire first fight.

Did you even watch that fight?

Stops Shane what are you smoking Burner.. if this fight goes down in DEC i bet all my points on Shane by ko. Did you expect Shane to look good vs Mora win or lose? (he won imo btw) no especially at this stage shane was never gonna look good vs a somewhat decent boxer who was on his bike all night.. oh and he was bigger then shane too

The forrest comparison is bad also for the reason mentioned by previous posters but also Shane was involved in a bad clash of heads minutes prior too being knocked down by a series of monster punches.. which would have koed most

I wouldnt bet on this happening now, Alvarez may have the power to stop an older Mosley but not the experiance to go about finding the way to the knockout. In 3 to 4 fights, getting rounds in the kid will grow into something special if he stays focused and hungry...dont let the publicity get to his head. If this fight is made at the right time Im confident Alvarez can be the first to stop Mosley, kid has one of the meanest left hooks in the game.

What make you think Mosley could even beat Jose Cotto or Baldimir at this point? Mosley is completly shot. Worse then Roy Jones vs Danny Green

I think he means the right hand that initially had Mosley on shaky legs before Forrest chased him into the corner and started unloading.

I still don't think that was a "lucky" punch.

If you use that kind of logic, you can say pretty much every amazing shot in history was a "lucky" punch.

                      Vernon just got off first.

And he also had the benefit of having bad intentions behind every shot he threw that night.

I'm still amazed when I revisit that fight that Shane made it the distance.
