I think you guys are forgetting that the guy is a former light heavyweight, and definitely more natural at Cruiserweight than HW.
Again, its not that I think hes amazing...he isnt. but he knows his strengths and is playings his cards well. look at the people widely considered to be top 10 p4p right now. can yall honestly say most of them deserve to be over someone who was a titleholder at LHW, the #1 at Cruiserweight, and now top 5 at HW?
Ill be the first to say the HW division is terrible, but so is the Middleweight division(as of right now, Im not counting the plethora of prospects on their way) and yet Martinez is still rated really highly.
I've been saying this for a minute. Adamek's move through Cruiser and Heavyweight is what P4P is all about.
Not really.
Pound for Pound means "all things being equal". The P4P Lists of today are simply a list of the Top 10 fighters in the world based on resume, status, skill, etc.
I mean Im an Adamek fan and it makes no sense to me how he can be a Top 10 fighter when Wlad, Vitali and Haye (all beter heavyweights than him) arent top 10.
He doesnt jump them because he USE to fight at Light Heavy.
Moving up in weight and winning is worthy of credit, but I prefer guys who beat world class opposition at their weight over ones who beat bigger guys who aren't anything special.
well, p4p lists are subjective, so I wont argue with your view on the matter.
but personally, I think accomplishments and dominance is the #1 thing when it comes to my p4p list...and flat out, Adamek has been on a long winning streak, and has accomplished much more than most other fighters that are just flavor of the month.
Even as a natural Cruiser, hes still better than almost every other Heavyweight out there.
the #1 at Cruiserweight part is the thing that pushes Adamek the most, imo. Not many guys in boxing can clearly say that they were the undisputed best in their division: Adamek fought and beat Cunningham, and you couldnt get much better than that.

What is this nonsense?
I've never seen a more ridiculous post in my life. What do you even mean 'all things being equal'? That's the most indecipherable nonsense I've ever heard.
You say the P4P lists are based on 'resume, status, skill, etc' - well, I would be very willing to bet that 'etc' part would lend a whole lot of support to a fighter that goes up 40lbs in weight and through 3 separate classes while only having only ever lost once in their entire career!
But not only that - Adamek himself with his skills is actually top 5 anyway and he consistently fights and beats guys much bigger than himself and is only a few fights away from attempting to capture his 3 title in the three hardest weight divisions to traverse. He not only outboxes decent fighters like Cunningham, Briggs, Arreola, Bell etc - he goes for the KOs and is one of the most exciting fighters today.
I bet your P4P list reads something like this:
1. Floyd
2. Williams
3. Mosely
4. Pac
5. Williams
6. Williams
7. Williams
8. Williams
9. Williams
10. Hopkins
