He is a straight up warrior. People need to stop disrespecting Williams because he fights for the love and thrill of boxing. Does he deserve Pacquiao or Mayweather? No, but he does deserve our respect as fans. He stated numerous times that he just wants to give a good performance for the fans to watch.

Quintana is not a bum btw. He may have fallen off big time, but he used to be a good fighter.

This guy gets crapped on when he fights EVERY style out there yet Pac keeps figting them same style over and over and no one bats an eye.

This guys has fought Quintana twice, Martinez once and now is fighting him again.

Thats 4 fights against guys with the style that gives him the most problems.

The blatant disrespect this guy gets is embarassing. The boxing fans on this site are a joke.

Paul did avoid Dzinziruk in my eyes but it wasn't nearly as bad as Martinez naming 9 fighters he'd fight, including Chavez, Mora, Mosley, Martirosyan, yet not listing Sergei. that was farcical.

Paul picked on Sharmba Mitchell, some tiny Argentinian kid, he wanted Pac, etc.

If you allowed Paul to fight LW's he would take it in a second. He knows he can't hang with guys closer to his size which is why he squeezes down to 47.
Martinez did duck Sergei. Including people like Mora - Angulo (the WBO interm titalist) in his list of 9 yet not naming the real WBO Champ.

After a dominating performance over Winky Wright, the once-beaten Paul “The Punisher” Williams has been aggressively hunting for a major name at middleweight, junior middleweight and welterweight. The buck didn’t stop there. Williams’ promoter Dan Goossen was actually trying to get Williams in the ring with Bernard Hopkins, a light heavyweight.

Despite his best efforts, Goossen has been unsuccessful with enticing the big names, like Shane Mosley and Hopkins, to accept a fight with Williams.

“We aggressively went after Shane Mosley and Shane at this point of his career would rather stay idle. I can’t say anything negative about Shane because he never turned down a challenge, even when it wasn’t in his best interest like the fight with Winky Wright,” Goossen told BoxingScene.com

“I think money and all of the other good things that come with that will not make Shane take a challenge like Paul Williams. Who can blame him? Paul is welterweight but is so much bigger and stronger than the other welterweights - and that makes it so much more difficult to get him a fight.”

“Bernard Hopkins is surprisingly silent. Like Mosley, at this stage of his career Bernard would rather have a lot more control over what could be considered his last fight. Paul is a tough nut even for a much bigger man to crack. We are certainly willing to put our welterweight in with the bigger Bernard Hopkins.”

Williams is still the interim-WBO junior middleweight champion. The natural fight to make would come against the full champion, undefeated Sergei Dzinziruk. Williams has called for Dzinziruk, and the Ukrainian-born fighter has answered that call. The dollar signs will decide if the fight can actually come together.

“We have a lot of options. There are other fighters and champions out there, like Sergei Dzinziruk - the undefeated WBO champion from Germany. I’ve admired his aggressiveness in trying to land the fight. It would allow Paul to go down to a weight between where he recently fought [middleweight] and where he would like to fight [welterweight]. We have other options out there. Hopefully we will have something settled in the next week or so,” Goossen said.

“I feel that pretty soon we are going to have an announcement. It’s a blessing to have someone who is so feared, but as the great Joe Louis said – ‘you can run but you can’t hide.’ That will always allow us to go out there and match him with someone who will certainly be a significant fight.”

Williams has always wanted that fight. HBO didnt want it until recently which made Dzinziruk the back up option to Martinez.

Martinez however NEVER wanted to fight Dzizniruk.

No doubt. From what i remember though Williams called him out, Sergei responded, then all talk of it disappeared. More importantly why the hell can't i find an article from when Martinez released his list of 9 fighters?

DiBella told me that he gave HBO a lengthy list of opponents Martinez was willing to face. The list: newly crowned junior middleweight titlist Miguel Cotto in a unification bout, Shane Mosley, Paul Williams (in a rematch of last year's great fight), Alfredo Angulo, Kermit Cintron, Antonio Margarito (in a rematch of Martinez's first loss), Vanes Martirosyan, Sergio Mora, Luis Collazo, Alfonso Gomez, middleweight titleholder Felix Sturm, junior middleweight titlist Cory Spinks and the winner of the June 26 Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.-John Duddy fight.
Middleweight contender Avtandil Khurtsidze has had a long wait for another shot at a belt, but it's here now and Khurtsidze vows to make it count.

Thanks for that i was worried i was going crazy. I mean Collozo, Mora, Chavez/duddy, Martirosyan. I really do feel bad for Dzinziruk. Guy moved to LA, got with Shaw and Showtime yet nobody seems to be doing a damn thing to help him. Shaw is utterly useless. I really do believe he signed him just to ensure the Angulo wouldn't have to fight him.

You are not alone in your POV on Caballero. I see nothing in him yet that could convince me that he could beat Juanma/Gamboa. But I would really like him to fight either on them just so I could confirm my assessment. With the way he fights, it just might be a war before Juanma/Gamboa turns on 2nd gear.

Pwill, I am fan but barely now cause of all the "money" talk. WTF? I can understand the 2 divas in Pbf/Pac making that statement but Pwill. WTF???
