In the UK there is no such thing as "British" you are either English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish or a derogatory term for anything else. The reason we didn't put a man on the moon first is because there is no one on the moon to give it back to, once we're done with it.

Secondly, you don't have a clue what you're taking about. England never had any sort of racism/civil rights problem as bad as America, more specifically Mississippi. And you'll find that immigration from Asian countries really didn't accelerate until the early 80s, so really if there was any race problem here in England it certainly wasn't in the 70s. And in the 80s, our thugs were too busy beating the shít out of each other over football matches.

When it comes to racism, the worst it's been is over the early 2000s when there were several riots and protest marches around the North West, but even they weren't anything compared to Mississippi during the civil rights movement.
