If we didn't have the Klitschkos, I would never have become a boxing fan. Watching Holmes, Ali and Holyfield puts me to sleep.

        Different strokes for different folks.

Apart from their boxing styles, a major factor as to why the public don't recognise the Klitschko's is because of their lack of exposure, through the media, so some blame must be accredited to HBO, Showtime etc

Fighters like Holmes, Ali, Tyson, had a medium in which to exhibit their talents, unfortunately the Klitschko's have been denied that by the various networks.

Your post makes no sense. Ali and Holmes fought in the 1970' and 1980's. If you watched them fight obviously you were a boxing fan. Same thing with Holyfield. Your post suggests that you saw each fight once and was so bored that you stopped watching boxing for anywhere from 10-20 years and then just picked it up again because of the Klits, who have only been relevant in the last 4-5 years. Ridiculous.

I started watching boxing after seeing Wlad in 2000. His fights with Bostice and Barrett were televised.

The media will not hype a good European fighter. The people who run the media like Chuvalo because he lost to Ali, Foreman and Patterson.
there is a massive ukranian population across canada & in the states.its a shame but have you noticed guys with big mouths & trash talk get all the media attention.chuvalo mentioned ali & tyson for example.the media doesnt find the klitschkos that interesting.its a shame but they are educated, hardworking athletes but lack media persona...there are other sports that are way more popular worldwide but guys like tyson & ali caught the attention of everyone.the klits are not that big outside germany.other then soccer what is there to watch in germany? nothing i can think of.so that contributes alot to the large attendance figures.in the states you have baseball,football,golf,basketball,tennis,etc...the klitschkos don't catch the eyes of these other sports fans.MMA is another sport i forgot to mention.wladimir lives in the states & the average fan has no idea which brother is which.guys like roger federer, rafael nadal & many other european athletes are media darlings in the USA so them be european has nothing to do with it.they are great athletes in a violent sport but lack the persona to captivate fans interests.look at adamek & golota for example, they both have huge polish\american followings.golota filled up MSG even after quitting in fights but vitalis fight with arreola didnt do that well & half the tickets were give aways.there is a huge ukranian\american population as well yet they don't have the cult following like adamek & golota.they don't get the media coverage because no one cares who they are.it unfortunate but its the way it is.being from europe has nothing to do with it.ricky hatton is another european who had huge following...other then their loyal fans the klitschkos just don't appeal to the media & most sports fans.

Then you really have no idea how good these other guys were and how much better their level of competition was.

I get that you don't like the fact that most people say the HWT division is not good right now.Its not a diss to the Klits its just the reality of the current situation. They are good fighters but its hard to call them great when they both tend to lose against real good competition. They dominate the division and there is nothing anyone can say differently.

exactly, the US media feeds off controversy and drama. That's why Wlad is not famous in the US, he doesn't go around talking crap.
