Anyone who thinks Cotto can't hang with Floyd is insane. There is a reason Floyd won't fight Cotto, and thats because Cotto simply eats up boxers. He KO'd Pinto, Quintana, Foreman, Judah and he didn't KO Paulie, but he demolished that guys face. The only style Cotto has looked even vulnerable is against an aggressive opponent which Floyd is not and add in the fact Floyd isn't nearly as flawless with a jab in his face and this fight has upset written all over it.
That being said Cotto doesn't need to call out anyone, a lot of big names are in fights right now and his best option ducked him. He already called out Floyd years ago but as stated earlier Cotto still lives in PR so he's screwed on getting a fight with Floyd, especially after his impromptu sparring session. So Marg, Pac, Martinez, Williams, Mosley, Floyd... what other options really are there for Cotto? Berto... meh, maybe but he wouldn't draw as much as simply waiting a few extra months and facing Marg, Mosley, Pac, Martinez or Chavez Jr. All those fights are PPV worthy, I'm not too sure if Berto would be and aside from a Pac rematch Cotto would get the majority % of the total purse. Plus, a vacation is good for Cotto he had an easy fight and will be about 1.5 years off the Manny beating. His body will be in shape but would have gotten a long rest which I think he badly needs.Comment
