I agree.. He's made Cotto the 3rd biggest draw in Boxing.. Granted now Arum is trying to set him up againts bums to become stepping stone but we all saw how that worked out for uncle bob in the fight againts Yuri..

arum was setting him up to be #1 tbh.

people forget , marg-cotto was suppose to be a cotto win.

after he beat marg and unified he was suppose to fight oscar.

when cotto lost that's when pac-delahoya got made.



i don't see the stepping stone thing. only way foreman beats cotto is if cotto was really shot. if anything uncle bob set cotto up to get another title so soon after getting waxed.

chavez jr. would have been beatable for cotto. plus it would have been $$$$$$$.

I think it is more about Arum defending Margarito in the wraps issue.

I think they saw that as a slap on the face to Cotto.

And, that he probably wasn't looking out for Cotto best interest in the Margarito fight. Which is dumb since Arum set that fight up for a Cotto win.

Cottos career is over. He will fight bums until he gets another huge money fight, and once KTFO he will probably call it a day.

plus marg-cotto 2 will make damn good money. getting marg to be able to fight will benefit cotto down the road. marg-cotto 2 will always be there for a backup fight for those 2.

****.. Yes.. They were hyping Yuri up like he was on a elite level of Pac or May... All the media attention Yuri grabbed.... Cotto didnt get nearly the exposure for that fight that he should have gotten.. Good thing he was already a big name.. I didnt think Yuri was anything to be excited about honestly.. he stunk up the joint againts Santos in the PAC/COTTO unddercard.. Arum looked pissed once Cotto took out Yuri.. Then after Bob wants to put him up againts JCC jr. or Vanes.. Uncle Bob is looking for his next cash cow after the Manny era.. and if he has to find him at Cotto's expense please believe he will..

I think Arum kinda sees Cotto as a win win situation at this point when he puts him in with guys like Foreman or Chavez. If he wins Arum gets to keep using Cotto until Cotto finally loses and makes one of these Top Rank up and comers a big name.

Either way Arum wins, and that's why he's the smartest man in the business. So, he is indeed using Cotto, but not in a bad way. Everyone is making bread.
