Pathetic. Simply pathetic.
If your only argument is that Martinez was the bookies favourite than you are a ****** noob. Don't bother.
I presented you with the reality of the 2 combatants.
Martinez was extremely green when he fought Margarito - FACT.

In keeping with your train of thought, that Martinez is overrated, than what does that make Paul Williams, who struggled with an opponent Martinez defeated, but was robbed????

Right...That is why the man didn't lose another fight till he fought Williams...And many don't think he lost that.
Point is, it wasn't just the odd makers, it was plenty of fans as well. Martinez was the more skilled of the two, and many thought he would win the fight.
Based on that alone. Margo won the fight, that doesn't cahnge the fact that Martinez was the favorite..
Btw: You are looking like the noob right now...I'm well aware, of when Matinez started fighting...Also, he was not green. He still fights the same way, and still has problems with pressure fighters.Comment

Now im not saying Williams is God's gift to boxing or that he is p4p #1. But I do think he's going to blow Martinez out the water this time. Im not a big fan of PWill but simply he has my pick for the night.Comment

He has the same problems? No chance.Right...That is why the man didn't lose another fight till he fought Williams...And many don't think he lost that.

When was the last time he was stopped by a pressure fighter?
If you have ever seen the actual fight, Martinez looked like a deer in the headlights, fighting backwards - he didn't have a proper response to Margarito's pressure.
^^^^^ The result of inexperience.
He grew exponentially after that loss, fighting scrubs here and there, gaining essentially experience. That's why he remained undefeated 'till the Williams loss.
The Margarito fight was a huge step in class for Sergio, and notice the sudden drop in level of opposition, following the fight. Martinez' handlers realised they couldn't afford to rush his career.
Simple logic my friend.Comment

all this talk about martinez and margarito in the past, who cares??? who would win now??? and i hope someone says margarito...Comment

That was not my train of thought mate.
My initial post was in response to your claim that Martinez was overrated. Then I proceeded to present you with the fact, Martinez handily disposed of Cintron whom Williams struggled with for the 4 rounds of their fight.
In essence, it is not an accurate gauge to make but the comparison was there to make.
If you claim Martinez is overrated, than so is P. Williams.
Capiche?

Obviously Martinez.
However, you have to take into account that Margarito is well past his best and some may consider him a shot fighter.
Martinez, on the other hand is riding high, after 2 brilliant performances against Williams and Pavlik.Comment
