I think it's hilarious that everyone wants to blame Atlas for the regression of Povetkin's career.
He was already taking backwards steps before Atlas showed up and he has only continued the same behavior with Atlas around.
Also, Atlas should watch his mouth when talking about the Klitschkos because Povetkin isn't going to be a mandatory anytime soon and I don't see the Klits humoring him with a title shot as soon as he feels he is prepared.Comment

Teddy is putting the finishing touches on Povvie's career -- as in Povetkin is finished.I think it's hilarious that everyone wants to blame Atlas for the regression of Povetkin's career.

Povetkin is going to wake up one day and realize Teddy cost him $2 million bux.Comment

Yep, that's it. Highest payday of his life, isn't that why he turned pro? To make some dough? He is never going to see that kind of money again, really dumb move on Povetkin's part. I am sure he is not starving with him being a gold medalist and all but I am sure he is not rolling in it either.
Like Wlad said recently; Povetkin has to become his own man at some point and make his own decisions and not let others dictate what he should do with his life. He is 31, over 100 amateur fights, gold medal in the Olympics, mandatory for almost 2 years, if he is not ready now, he will never be.
Atlas is just stroking his own ego here and Povetkin is too naive to realize that. Don't forget until recently, Atlas hasn't said one good thing about the Klitschkos, he always claimed that they were bums and that he could train anyone to beat them. That's why he took on the Povetkin project. Well now he is realizing that the task is a little harder than he though so he doesn't want to hurt his own ego by being proved wrong when Wlad or Vitaly destroy Povetkin, so he pulled Povetkin out. Povetkin should have fought Wlad, title shots for 4 belts and $2 million dolllars don't come around too often and Povetkin just failed to seize the biggest opportunity of his life.Comment
