maybe he should fight angulo in mexico and if angulo wins, cotto has to let angulo marry one of his sisters so he can become a citizen..cotto doesnt want these fights because they are too dangerous for him.. i dnt care for cintron too much because he dove out the ring on williams and doesnt seem to eager for a rematch.. but he should fight vanes or at least somebody just to stay active.. cotto is a fake champ to me.. he was damn near killed my pac and then got a title from fighting a wounded bum..lets be serious, the 154 division is packed with great fighters.. cotto cant get the match he wants, one he knows he will win, thats why he aint fighting. there are fighter out there that will jump at the chance to fight cotto on dec. 4th

i mean i get why he wouldnt fight Vanes, but if cotto thinks that Cintron isnt on the same level as Chavez Jr. that makes me wonder if arum has beens showing him Chavez Sr. fights and pretending its Jr.

Vanes and Cintron would have meant a smaller payday for Cotto since the PPV would have done poor numbers.

You can't hate on Cotto, he has consistently fought the best for the past 3-4 years.

Why should Cotto take these fights? I agree.... Cintron and Vanes should fight and the winner maybe becomes a good option. Cotto at this point of his career should only take the big money fights. He has earned that right....

Do you know anything? Calling Cotto a coward because he isn't fighting people at 154... Martinez/Williams is on already so the two biggest names in the division are not options. Floyd at 147 or 154 doesn't matter because even off three brutal fights Floyd still won't fight Cotto so he's out of the picture. Manny is going to beat down Margarito some more, so those two are also out of the picture. Mosley just looked like garbage vs Mora, but the fight is too close to make anything with Mosley II.

Cotto has hardly any option right now as all the big names are in fights. Chavez Jr, was the perfect matchup for Cotto big name, big money and an easy fight but Chavez pussied out of that fight. Cintrons last fight was vs Paul Williams and IDC who the "main draw" was the fight had 300 gate buys what the hell does Cintron bring to the table. No money and if Cotto loses he's shot, if he wins he beat a guy he was supposed to beat. Its a pointless fight for Vanes as well as I'm sure even less people know him.

Cotto resting is his best bet, he fought Judah, Mosley, Margarito, Clottey and Manny in the span of 2-3 years. Yet people like you are claiming he's scared and ducking people why? People he is the 3rd biggest payday in boxing and he doesn't want to fight guys that couldn't fill even 10% of the arena's he'll be in. Cotto made 2 million (guaranteed) to fight Foreman, AT BEST Cintron/Vanes will get Cotto that much. Jr will probably bring in 4-5 million guaranteed as it will be on PPV and after adding in buys and gate I could see Cotto making 7-8 million. A Marg rematch would be Cotto's biggest payday IMO and could get over 1 million buys, this is the fight that should be made instead of Manny/Cotto II, IDC how the outcome is.
