Benard Hopkins without question. He's a true student of the game and really knows the science and he's articulate enough to get his points across. Also his work ethic is crazy and I'm sure he would make his students work just as hard.

I doubt he will ever be one though, he's too much on the business side of things which is both good and bad. He can probably make more money commentating/promoting but I think he would be best giving back to the game as a trainer when his career is over.

has there been really a very good fighter who became a good trainer? roach was a bum. floyd sr was a bum. roger was average. robert garcia looked good until he faced chico corrales and got ktfo. steward and atlas were ameteur boxers and didn't even turned pro.

I would say B-Hop. Roy Jones has great boxing knowledge and during fights with him as a commentator, you can see he really knows what he's talking about. It would just be weird having him train fighters since Roy was the most unorthodox fighter during his time. And his style isn't a style you can really "teach".
