where will our sport be in 20 years?!

    its something to think about!

will it be back at its best

will there have been some revolutionary change in the rules

    will it be dead

will it be a non contact sport??????? (joke)

to be honest, probably about the same.. some new prospects coming in and a few young fighters now that could definately hold the sport down for the next few years.

To extend your timeline a bit, I think in about 100 years boxing might be the only sport that we play now that's still around. Nothing else has the same longevity, hell the ancient Greeks were boxing.

Boxing will most likely fizzle out for a period within 10 years from now I'd say. However, there will still be a craving for it by the fans. Promoters, cable companies, fighters, etc will get together and restructure some of the weight classes and add more basic fights on cable from time to time and in doing so draw a crowd to boxing again. Or at least I can hope.

I dont know, i always thought boxing was here for good but with all the girly men at the moment you have to worry about the sport. More "so called" men would rather spend quality time looking in the mirror than being a man at a boxing gym, makes me sick.

The sport needs another hungry swarmer like Joe Frazier or Mike Tyson to steamroll the division. People are just not interested in boxers like Lewis or Ali that drag out fights and make them boring by running. Of course true fans of the sport will watch an Ali like fighter, but people who are not that interested will not. People of all ages and backrounds love to watch people get knocked out cold, and thats why so many people pay to sell Tyson fight, even a washed up Tyson can see out fighting bums.
