Williams made it very clear after the first Martinez fight that he wanted to return to 154. I'm guessing he wasn't comfortable at Middleweight, which is perfectly understandable. Plus neither will struggle to make 157 so I don't mind the catch weight. Martinez could probably still make 154 if he wanted to.

So explain why does Williams want a "meaningless" catch weight? Without the teenage posts. Nvm you're a teenager.
Because PWILL is the most avoided fighter that he avoided the 160 lb weight limit

Did I mention that Pac is fighting for a record 8TH TITLE?

I know Pac fans took a beating but comparing this to Pacquiao is grasping at straws.
Paul Williams is cheating history by fighting for the linear middleweight title. Paul williams is fighting a guy that margarito tkod and drew with cintron

For requesting one catch weight? He doesn't feel comfortable at Middleweight, and both can already make JMW so there's nothing wrong with requesting a catch weight. If anything this is the way catch weights are supposed to be used. There's supposed to be used so that two fighters at different weight classes can meet at an even ground and fight so that neither one has the size advantage. Its just a matter of who is the better fighter of the two.

then why fight for the belt. what do you mean two fighters from different class? didnt u know they fought at the 160 lb limit before and that PWILL had way more fights at 160 than Sergio. Paul Williams is nothin but a b1tch cheating history. he's fighting for the linear middleweight title and one of the original weight class.

Exactly. Whitaker-Chavez was held at 145 and it didn't stop a good portion of the experts from picking Chavez to win by stoppage. Pacquiao-Cotto is another example.

I do agree that it shouldn't be for the belt. I doubt Williams would defend it anyways. And yes, I do know that they fought at 160 the first time. But after the fight Williams said that his days at 160 are over. And he wasn't lying. He trashed the Pavlik fight and moved down to fight Cintron.

Remember, Williams only moved up to 160 in the first place because there were no fights at 147 or 154. JMW wasn't nearly as loaded as it is right now. Dzinziruk and Martinez were the only competition, but nobody knew who they were back then.
