it's just a tool for the manny haters. instead of one type of fighter he avoids, it all of a sudden becomes 2 types of fighters he avoids.

if he beat someone slick, they would say he wasn't black.

if he beat a black fighter who was a puncher, they would say he wasn't slick.

it also makes manny look racist for not giving a black fighter a shot. any objective fan would just say "slick fighter" and no need to add race
