Comments Thread For: Braehmer vs Cleverly Clash on December 11 in London?

Over the weekend in Birmingham, light heavyweight Nathan Cleverly got the biggest win of his career with a stoppage victory over Karo Murat in an eliminator. He now wants his promoter Frank Warren to set a fight against WBO champion Juergen Braehmer at the ExCeL in London on December 11. [Click Here To Read More]

Barring a few early stoppages and the Brook/Jennings bore, the Magnificent seven card turned out to be a great night for the British boxing scene, and certainly the best card i've seen on these shore's. As much as i dislike the ****, Warren really is doing British boxing proud, especially getting another world champ with Ricky Burns.

I don't think Groves/Degale will happen this year, but i really hope it does. I want to see Warren's face when the ginger assassin pummels Degale's face in.

Warren wont put degale in with grove until it's worth alot of money because it's not an in house fight , degale fights smith for the British title later this year

Braehmer's charges for assaulting a woman may prevent him from crossing the border out of Germany, so this fight may not happen.

I reckon it still will. He's not going to fight Dawson/Cloud/Pascal/Hopkins yet and it's the classic Frank Warren route which is straight to the WBO title, he always manages to get a shot at it. I mean what else it Cleverly going to do? He won't sit around and fight more bums when he wants to step it up.

He may have to fight Braehmer in Germany. Will Warren agree to that?

Sounds unlikely, but i wouldn't be surprised if Warren somehow got it in England.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Universum get the WBO to let Braehmer weasel out of fighting Cleverly for a while. WBO didn't make Erdei fight a mandatory for several years, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the WBO let Braehmer fight another two or three stiffs over the next year or so. Regardless of his criminal situation, I also can't see Braehmer leaving Germany to fight.
