ortiz needs stiffer competition to gauge where he stands, because, harris was only a test where punching power comes into effect and if ortiz could handle it. harris offered nothing else. which is fine, because ortiz needed to pass that test, now he needs to pass other tests.

you put him in against a guy who has world class stopping power, with a solid chin, and moderate boxing skills and ortiz will be in some serious trouble unless he is obviously better and fighting better than his opponent in the fight.

i like ortiz but he has to work himself back into position and not be hyped back into that position.

and right now, i think he's on the fringe of getting back into that level of fighting, it just has to be earned and not forced because of the hype machine.

i think any of the top guys right now beat him and do it convincingly because him in a real fight, i think oritz's confidence is still tattered and needs to be properly built up.

the kid is great though, he's got star quality potential, he conducts himself like a gentlemen, and he is very professional about his business. i'd like to see ortiz have a great career, he has the overall fight package, power, speed, stamina, and he has a suspect chin which makes it exciting to watch him fight, because anything can happen.

i just don't believe in putting any stock in him at this point until he can prove that he can over come any hardships in a fight, unlike against maidana.......

Yeah Koltelnik was being patient and finding those gaps that Alexander left...alexander just jabs jabs and jabs and might throw a hook here and there, and if he's lucky enough to get inside he'll throw a mean uppercut, but his combos are easy to figure out...similar to Koltelnik; Ortiz would be patient, but he has better foot movement, better movement with his waist, and hits harder, is more accurate with combos, and is faster than Koltelnik...and Koltelnik hurt Alexander pretty bad, he broke him down during the long run of the fight...Imagine the damage Ortiz would do on that kid? If I was Ortiz' trainer I would have him fight Alexander....Make Ortiz do what he usually does by fighting defensively on the inside and find those gaps to break down Alexander, and by the 9th round (if it goes the distance) when Alexander is hurt; then unleash the the Viciousness that he unleashed during the first two rounds of the Maidana fight and I guarantee Ortiz will stop Alexander...
As of right now I think Ortiz's toughest test will be Bradley. Bradley has all the tools and is the only fighter at 140 who hasn't shown any problems.

I don't think Khan has enough power to derail Ortiz or Bradley, plus both those guys can get their hands on Khan enough to earn them a KO or stoppage imo. Alexander is the biggest question mark right now I think. If a clever, tough, and defensive savvy fighter like Kotelnik can give Alexander problems you have to wonder how he'll handle someone like Bradley.

I hate nitpicking, but its TAILOR made. like someone specifically designing a suit for you. not Taylor as in someones name.

if Alexander doesnt work on his head defence quickly, I could definitely see Ortiz toasting him with a straight left or a right uppercut.

i agree....fan of Vicious...i think he has the potential to be the very best @ 140. I also think he should rematch Maidana, as i think he will win the rematch.

Let's wait and see what Khan can do with Maidana....that's a toss up IMO, though i favour Maidana who has the better chin. If Khan works behind the speed and jab he may surprise everyone.

140 is stacked with talent atm.......WAR ORTIZZ!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think Maidana might be able to be out boxed. But out boxed without power punching? I don't know. If Khan can't discourage Marcos, he's just gonna keep coming. And again, Maidana has more than enough pop to lay Khan out. I mean I even saw Barrera wobble Khan lol.
